What's new

I ended up in Police station hahaha

With a graduation degree in business, you should rather opt for starting your own business-Entrepreneurship. You can start it with a little to zero capital considering you are hard working and have a business idea or required skills (or both). Working under someone from 8 AM to 4 PM wont make you rich but entrepreneurship will.

Guys...So, I graduated in May 2017 with BBA graduate tag on my shoulder...Looking to find jobs in multi national or national companies preferably of customer related descriptions or HR related....I got interviewed by many. Some I rejected, some they rejected.

Then I got interviewed by management/consultancy firm...They said; we are sending you for one month on training at CPLC where you'll initially help in feeding entries (Mobile snatching/F I Rs into system) then you'll be brought back to our office to help us in feeding HR related data of company/companies etc into system....

Obviously I won't stop at just being data entry operator...I didn't throw 4 lacs onto BBA to just become data entry operator in any organization....

My family got really happy that I have a chance to opt career in CPLC (A credible government organization with good reputation) and asking me to find ways in it rather to go back at that consultancy firm but they can rotate me back to their own office after one month?...

I am confused. What to do now? CPLC office is located inside police station

People end up in companies...I end up in sight seeings of jails...Still laughing and not feeling bad at all...I think police guys are hell funny. There are lots of good guys in police...:)

@tps77 @war&peace @Arsalan @Narendra Trump @OTHERS

Just wanted to gather your ideas/brain storming/advice....That's why created this thread. pray for my success, guys...That I remain in straight path....People say age of 20-30 is very important and the decisions you make either make you or stray you from your desired path...There will be lots of options that will come to my table...I hope I'll opt for better :)
Do it experience alone will take you quite far

Not a bad start I would say.

Firstly, you aren't starting you career from a Police Station as a data entry operator. Your CV will show the name of the consultancy firm and the type of project you do during your association with the firm.

If they put you on this job for an extended period of time, it is a problem, but if they assign you more complex work, you shouldn't worry at all.

No work is inferior. People learn something on every assignment.

Questions you should ask:

1 - What is the reputation of the consultancy firm?
2 - What other clients this firm serves?
3 - What type of work it provides to other clients?
4 - Profile of other BBA/ MBA qualified people in the firm, are they getting appropriate career development and training?

A basic search on the internet and some communication with the existing staff members will get you this information. Once you get this information, the next thing you want to analyse is that, whether this job fits as the first block of your career? Keep your objectives in view when answering this question.

Firms don't send new hires to do complex tasks unless they get some kind of assurance on the capabilities, determination, hard work, honesty and loyalty of an individual. So just prove yourself on this assignment as well as go to your manager and tell him that you are available for his assistance on other tasks and are ready to work extra hours. Show your enthusiasm to him and he will certainly become your mentor and start giving you more complex work, but it will take time. Maybe, it takes 6-9 months to get you the reputation with all qualities I have mentioned.

Good luck..

. .
Is it only for one month??

Yup...

Good luck with your new job!!! Try to further your career by doing MBA etc.!! Keep your ears and eyes open for opportunities so that you can even open your own company!!! Especially if it's related to CPEC I am pretty sure enormous growth opportunities are there!!! The world belongs to the dissatisfied...

Roger !!!

A job's a job. My friend worked reception in a police station and got a job in investment bank because he helped out the Friday night drunk driver.

Especially now when landing a job depends, entirely, on who you know, getting your foot into the door is a start.

Agreed.

I thought you got arrested.

Best of luck, hope thing s work out for you.

:smitten::cheers: Thanks khafee bhai

your selection of title is quite good, i hope you excel in your field

:)

This is your first step , keep going with your best honesty and you ll see the miracles ..... but always say your mother prey for you, Allah never decline mothers request.

So right you are.

I will go for business as well. That's the plan...What are businesses which require little capital?...I tried google but still didn't make my mind.

What interests you? That's the primary question you should be asking instead of googling for business ideas!

Congratulation on you new job bro and trust me. The first job is always the most difficult to get and while you are working there you will find MANY better opportunities. CPLC as you said is a reputable institution. Work hard there and you will learn more than you ever can during your education, the practical experience will help you find new opportunities.

Best of luck and Congratulations again.
