Hyundai & Kia Motors European Combined Market Share Hit Record High in June

The European Automobile Manufacturers Association says the companies' vehicle sales accounted for 6.3-percent of the market in June, up point-2-percent from two months before.
Hyundai and Kia ranked EIGHTH after BMW Group, selling around 79-thousand units.

For the first time ever, the Korean automakers are expected to report a combined market share in the 6-percent range throughout the year.

French and Italian automakers are getting blooded by the rise of Korean car market share in EU, when the market is contracting due to an ongoing financial crisis in Europe.

It has to be said that the quality of Korean cars have improved big time. Their designs, both inside and outside and their reliability is also top notch.

Can you link a page from the auto association with t e numbers please? The article sort of has no link, it's like we have to take the journalists word.

I also went to the site cited in the article and found no reports for June.

Though yes, Korean cars are much better now, i remember Hyundai Pony lol....

In bad economic time people want a car that works ok and cheap, great design is put in the back. European car makers such as the Italian and French are legendary in design, I still remember when I was a kid and my mother drove a Citroën DS, unmatched till today.

Neither Japan and certainly Korea ever managed to create a legendary car design, most of them look tacky, just too intentional or plainly boring.

Well
