Death toll due to floods continues to rise in IOK Flood victims in Srinagar dying for rescue, relief

Srinagar, September 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders continued relief activities in different parts of the territory to help the people affected by the heavy rains and flash floods.
The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, along with other APHC leaders oversaw the activities being conducted in downtown Srinagar by the Hurriyet activists and volunteers. He expressed solidarity with the affectees and assured them that the Hurriyet leadership would extend all kinds of assistance to them in this hour of trial.
The veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has set-up a relief camp in Hyderpora area of Srinagar, where people are being provided with essential commodities.
Senor leader of Hurriyet Conference Jammu and Kashmir, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, along with other Hurriyet leaders and activists distributed the relief goods and participated in activities of rescuing the stranded people in various parts of the Kashmir Valley particularly in south Kashmir and Srinagar and its outskirts. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Sopore, Kulgam, Pulwama and other areas who sent relief trucks in Srinagar and those people who, by risking their lives, offered every possible support to the flood victims. He also thanked the Kashmiri students across India who sent relief goods to the flood-hit Valley.
Hurriyet leader, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, visited different areas of Pattan and viewed the devastation caused by the heavy rains and flash floods in the occupied territory. Talking to KMS over phone on the occasion, he said that people of flood-affected areas were facing shortage of food, drinking water, medicine and other basic commodities. He deplored that Indian army personnel were giving priority to rescue their fellows and their families and tourists and ignoring the stranded Kashmiris.
The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and APHC leaders, Bilal Ghani Lone and Zaffar Akbar Butt, continued the relief activities in different areas of Srinagar.

he Kashmiri people, who have been hit by flash floods, the worst in 60 years.
These leaders in their interviews with Kashmir Media Service said that millions of people in the occupied territory are trapped in the floods and an alarming situation has risen due to crisis of drinking water, clothes, food and electricity. The leaders said that thousands of villages have completely washed away and whereabouts of thousands of residents are not known. Exact number of causalities, they added, is difficult to ascertain as the communication channels are totally snapped. The Hurriyet leaders pointed out that though the water level has started receding but there was a strong apprehension that furious flood waters would maroon more areas in the occupied territory.Meanwhile, Hurriyet leaders Syed Ali Gilani, Bilal Ghani Lone and Shabbir Ahmad Shah have started relief work and two relief camps have been set up at Hyderpora and Sanat Nagar in Srinagar.
A meeting of Muslim Action Committee held in Jammu under the chairmanship of its President, Mohammad Shareef Sartaj expressed solidarity with the affected people and deplored the slow pace of relief work by the authorities.
According to reports, the angry residents attacked the officials from occupation authorities at some places while deploring the apathy of the administration.

Srinagar, September 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) leader, Javed Ahmad Mir has said that the Hurriyet leadership including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Shabbir Ahmad Shah are actively participating in rescue and relief activities in the flood-hit areas.Javed Ahmad Mir addressing the flood victims at Soura after distributing relief goods among them, hailed the performance of Kashmiri youth during the rescue and relief operations in the flood-hit areas of the territory. He said that the youth had saved hundreds of lives by risking their own lives which was commendable.
He said that India did not help the people of Kashmir in the hour of trouble but the Kashmiri youth proved that they need no assistance of India. He said that the youth had proved that India could not buy them at any cost. He
The APHC leader appealed to the international community to send its delegations and representatives to Kashmir for helping the flood affectees of the occupied territory. He also urged the world community and the UN to play role in settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute.
Meanwhile, APHC leader, Syed Saleem Gilani on the instruction of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq visited Khanqah Makhdoom Sahib, Islamia College and other areas of Srinagar to supervise and monitor the relief activities.
