How strong is India's Defences towards the chinese Boarder

Why Arunachal Pradesh belons to India

1.Bismaknagar
It is located in Dibang Valley district and is a sacred heritage of the Idu Mishmis. It is a symbol of past glory and indicate the high standard of civilisation that once prevailed around Bhismaknagar. Bhismaknagar must have been a strong hold of the Chutiyas (12th-16th centuries) but the excavations has been throwing new light on its much earlier antiquities. Bhismaknagar stands for what is best in the tribal and Aryans way of life. It speaks for the Catholic spirit of the ancient Indians and the contribution made by the Idus to the synthetic fabric of Indian culture. Today Bhismaknagar has become the nucleus of a renaisance a determination of a sturdy race to revive its traditional culture, while accepting everything that is progressive.

Bhismaknagar

Am talking abt 12th century.

2. Parasuram Kund and the Brahma Kund in the Lohit district are sacred places that attract thousands of pilgrims, who take a dip in their holy waters to purge themselves of their sins every year.

3.Bismaknagar and its fort in the Dibang Valley are memorials to the Bhagwat Gita. The story goes that Lord Krishna’s visited Bismaknagar, fell in love with a local girl Rukmini, and eloped with her.

4.The beautiful Tawang Monastery, dating back to the 17th century, houses a big library of holy books, some of which are written in gold letters.

RUINS OF BHALUKPONG:

Forts constructed around 10th to 12th centuries are found in the Bhalukpong area of West Kameng district.
It is believed to be that of some defeated kings of Assam in those periods.
Few stone blocks and brickbats are found on the slope of the hillock, which is situated on the right bank of river Bharali, about 3-km northwest from Bhalukpong. Near The BRTF camp, Bhalukpong, some bricks, stone remnants, a pond and a brick well were found.

Lohit District
is the present name derived from one of its principal rivers, the Lohit which rises from the eastern Tibet and enters India in Kibithoo area of the District. In the ancient Indian literature the river is called 'Lauhitya' a name that is associated with the legends of Parasuram which referred in Srimad Bhagavat, Kalikapurana and in the Mahabharata.

The ancient history of the individual Lohit District is not concreated due to paucity of historical evidence, literary or material, yet the lower belt of the district is the base for evidence for existence of the ruins of ancient settlement, buildings, shrines and temples. The Parasuram Kund,Tamreswari temple,Sivalinga site and the city of king Bhismak situated in this region are also mentioned in the Puranic and tantric literatures.

Discovery of North-East India ... - Google Books

Rukmini Nati: are the ruins of Princess Rukmini is situated at the heart of Chimiri village which is approximately 12 km from Roing. This is a hill-fort presumably of 14th/15th century. You find the remains of burnt and baked bricks, which indicates the progress of the erstwhile civilization.

these places are also described in the bagavat Gita ( the holy book of Hindus )

Added to your strength is 14k rebellious Tibetans that India has armed for invasion/making trouble of China.

Rebellious? No,i don't think they are rebellious.I've been there once.the scenery is excellent and the people are kind.Since then,i don't believe any western media anymore.what they do is hiring some guys who have never been to tibet sitting in a office in london and make reports. No photos?Just cut some small pics from a large pic taken in Nepal or somewhere else.CPC may not did everything well, but i'm sure dalai would do worse. You guys believe an old aristocrat from a slave society rather than a goverment from a big counrty?A slave owner is more reliable than communists who has already gived up their commism dream and busy in making money?I'm now confused by your phylosophy

This might be an interesting input to my friend who started the thread. These revelations came as total surprise to me!! What adds to their credibility is that they are points made by an Academic who specialises in Security and Strategic Studies in South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Prof.Julian Schofield, Assistant Professor of Political Science, Concordia University, Canada; says that - India has had the upper hand v/s China since shortly after 1962; because of logistical reasons China cant have more than 4 Divisions in Tibet, as it is simply too difficult to keep them supplied perticularly as you approach the Indian border; India today has 11 Mountain Divisions which could easily overpower China if there was fighting, there is no retake of 1962.

The above comments where made by Prof.Julian Schofield on Inside Story aired on Al-Jazeera (go directly to 11:45 min into the programme to hear him make the comments that i have quoted him saying). I would also strongly recommend watching the whole programme, it is very informative.

wow great work

This thread started with comparison of indian and chinese defecne but later indains steered it on finding common grounds....simple wicked!
One guy with american flag threatning in between of armed Tibetians but indians refrain from commenting on this issue.
Usuall indian style, keep pinching its neghbors but blame it on americans so the receiver vent his anger on america.

Truth is indian defenses with Chinese borders are not even compareable simply because 95% of its troops and hardware is deployed at Pakistan border.

Even bigger truth is that india is doomed the day they speak of war with Chinese or speak against Chinese interests. Indians will always use stupid Americans to get their wicked messages across.

Thank god we refrained from commenting on the American post the post was way off topic :cheers:But then do you still think India is continuing arming Tibetans ? Or have we ever done that ?

India will never speak of war with China it simply dosent make any sense. India works with China when it comes to interests the only discrepancy is the border issue. Which will be sorted out.

we have common ground on WTO,FTA,ASEAN,BRIC,SCO,G-8 etc

But keeping all these aside i just want to know. What Chinese members feel as to why china claims Arunachal ?

My Ans:

It holds 1Billion strong army at the border.Forget the unpopular 62 war. This is the information age.The moment China stikes, masses will start to hold the fortress and will right away take the war into Chinese mainland.period

How strong is our border defences? Lets put it this way - we have goat tracks, they have highways. The GOI seems to have woken up finally to this, lets see how things will be in a couple of years time.
