And did you happen to read extremely ignorant and biased comments under the article?

The article itself gives a very sketchy explanation that does not actually explain anything.

Pakistan is in identity crisis. Its opinion makers, parrots and slaves of the west and hating everything local want to pull Pakistan in their skewed version of liberalism. Its majority want an Islamic country. A little minority somewhere want it to be a theocracy, a figment of their own mindset and strictly following their ideology. Hence there are centripetal and centrifugal forces in society that are shaping up a country.

Who said taking a new identity and birth of a new nation was an easy task?

Hindus oft forget that Hinduism itself is a fusion of various native and imported belief systems. The history of Indus valley region mostly presents generally a non hindu(modern variant) religions. From Indus valley civilization to Gandhara and in between the remnants prove a Hindu footprint mainly in southern punjab and Singh regions while the north mainly a Buddhist. In fact Mehrgarh civilization had burials and graveyards as old as 7500 to 9000 BCE. So historically there are clear distinctions between what is now India and Pakistan and Indians should not look into modern day Pakistan and feel a cultural distinction. In fact overtime it is bound to increase distinctive cultures as people in the back waters of Pakistan start owning more of what they are and less of what are not! Islam is to play a key roll in molding these cultural mores as people become more attuned with actual Islam and less with being cultural Muslim. Indians feel of being but hurt on a cultural discourse taking place in Pakistan is misplaced to say the least...

A Good friend and ex coworker who has family in Pakistan and india told me, that mostly historical sites etc are poorly cared for in Pakistan and a lot of ancient buildings are in complete dis repair. However, Pakistan has maintained its social culture better than india . The Punjabi spoken in Pakistan for instance is apparently purer than in indian Punjab, where it is mixed up with a lot of Hindi and English words. Food, manners, religious attitudes, Dress forms etc for both men and women(middle and low class) have not changed as much as in india. Indians especially young people live in a very different world to their parents in every way, dress, attitude, food habits, relationships - everything.

This is just his personal experience and he doesn't go back often, so may have changed a lot by now, I don't know. Just thought of putting in my two cents.

An extremely IGNORANT assessment.

Title is terribly misleading . By the way indias culture is its ppl not in bricks or buildings. Pakistan has become an arabized country so they gaze at our past contemplating when to destroy it ,deny it and what reason to give for it.

It is not what you see or what they are. It is what they want to become/think they are.
and who give you this licence to speak on behalf of all Pakistani and represent their thinking as if you have access to their thoughts . Its your hinduvata who call Muslims arab outsiders just because they are following religion Islam

Why in the world should I represent pakistanis? Wording in sentence is "they" not "we". Thoughts ? please read your own Constitution (Second Amendment) Act, 1974.

"Its your hinduvata who call Muslims arab outsiders just because they are following religion Islam"
You are welcome to have "your" extremely intelligent opinion not based on any facts and some one should remind you that there are more muslims in my country than yours who are free to practice without being stopped by any constitutional amendment.
