That is the whole problem. The establishment does not integrate these people into mainstream society so they are influenced by outside forces. These fake ulemas take donations from Hindus, west, and Arabs to influence Pakistani politics. Pakistan is an Islamic country with the majority Islamic religious population. This population often feels disenfranchised by the government so they follow these fake ulemas. No matter how hard you try, you cannot run away from the religious people so why not just integrate them fully into society and manage their influence. You should want more diversity in politics and telling a whole people to sign waivers is not the smartest thing.

No, that's totally wrong and in fact is the root cause of the whole problem. They should be integrated into the society and only then they can be useful otherwise if you think you can remove the love of the religion from people's hearts and make them hate the scholars then you're wrong. A lot has been tried in the past and it has failed. We need to educate them, merge the Islamic madrassah and mainstream education systems into one and eliminate the sectarianism by teaching them Holy Quran & Hadeeth only. There should be no deobandi, brelvi, wahabi, shia... all should follow the no sect Islam.

In trying to work towards undermining scholars, you are in fact doing what the enemies of Islam want. When you begin to hold enmity towards the people who teach Islam, then sooner or later, you'll go one step further and attack Islam itself. It won't happen in a generation but it's more of a slow process. One part of Islam gets attacked, then another, and another and another etc... as time goes on. In fact you actually see it on this forum, many people are on a different stage, some currently just enmity towards scholars but haven't began to go any further than that, some despise scholars and go one step further and attack parts of Islam without actually disassociating themselves from Islam, a few people are even at a more extreme level than that and have straight out apostated and even regularly attack the Prophet (pbuh).

Scholars who sell out are normally a minority, most just go on teaching Islam in their own area or giving lectures etc... and living their lives. It's very extreme to attack all scholars based on the actions of a few.

Now, I really love the fact that Indian Muslims.. for that matter even Indian Hindus are not that deeply connected to religion - Here Chinese way is not entirely wrong... focus on your work.. growth.. development and contribution to the society... thats far more important.
