How China Is (Surprise!) Winning Its War On Air Pollution
But the country isn't in the clear yet.

Don’t let the "red alerts," smog-shrouded buildings or blotted-out sun fool you: Beijing and China on the whole appear to be gaining real ground in the war on pollution.

In 2015, Beijing saw a 16 percent annual fall in the concentration of the most deadly type of air pollutant, according to an analysis by the Paulson Instituteand Greenpeace of air quality data from the United States Embassy in Beijing. Though virtually all of those gains were registered during the summer and early fall, they still proved enough to make 2015 the cleanest year since the embassy began publishing data in 2008.

Beijing's average monthly concentrations of cancer-causing PM2.5 particulates in micrograms per cubic meter (note: not AQI levels) from 2008-2015. The data is from the United States Embassy pollution monitoring.

Just curious if the US Embassy in New Delhi is as diligent as the one in Beijing.

Not so surprised to me.
Media craziness is for suppressing China's manufacturing and competitiveness.
China should continue upgrading manufacturing and moving up the value chains, ignoring the obsession from the west.

But hard to ignore the noise from social media.

Can you guys even bother checking....instead of doing a 5 guy post circle-J all the time.

Air Quality Data | New Delhi, India - Embassy of the United StatesView attachment 285616

Good to know, thanks. It did not cause the storm on social media in India like it did in China.

Do you know why the headline about pollution on international media is almost always associated with China? India with much more severe air pollution problem, has largely escaped the scrutiny from the west media?

That's only because you guys tried to censor it. Before that it was never even a blip on the news.

lol.
What a brainwashed Americano!
Only Trump can nail it.

I don't think it has anything to so with "censor", and you know that.
U can't stop people showing stupidity.
I have encountered both American elite and ordinary.
The previous one knows the truth but hide it from the ordinary.
The ordinary(like those in PDF) is willing to accept those craps from elites and they don't even know they are brainwashed by elites.

The first time most people ever heard of any serious air pollution problem was during the Beijing Olympics. Only because you guys had to do some kind of emissions crackdown that was noteworthy.

Then it went off the radar.

Then there was some issue with the US Embassy giving out readings that was causing some consternation by the Chinese government, So back in the news the air pollution came.

China censors US embassy pollution data during APEC
"Authorities have ordered one of China's most popular air pollution-reporting apps to remove data provided by the US embassy, a company spokesman said Tuesday, as Beijing hosts a high-profile gathering of world leaders.

The Chinese capital is periodically hit by choking, acrid haze, with particulate levels soaring far beyond recommended limits and public anger mounting over the issue.

While the city government provides its own air pollution data, a separate reading by the US embassy in Beijing is widely considered more reliable."
