Hong Kong crowd chants "We are Hong Kong!" during Chinese National anthem for HK Gold medal winner

. .
1. HK education system has been always controlled by western or pro west orgnizations. Patriotism education is banned in HK schools.
2. HK has anti China tradition. The west sees HK as the springboard for ideology penetration to China mainland. They spent a lot of money and energy in HK. Many HKers are descendants anti-CCP refugees.

. . . . .
No, kids never sing that in school.
You are thinking of the Pledge of Allegiance and that isn't required.
Really?

Sure some schools still make a big deal out of it but it is not a Government requirement. They probably also still think Commies are behind every tree, Evolution is BS, and the FBI/CIA is outside watching their house. :rolleyes1:

BTW it is against US Federal law for public schools to force kids to do such pledges. She must have been in some kooky private school.

(1943), is a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court holding that the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment protects students from being forced to salute the American flag or say the Pledge of Allegiance in public school.

As far as I know. It's not "some schools". All public schools have to do that. It is hard to believe US government is totally out of this.

:enjoy:

These people are actually victims of Hong Kong education under the infiltration of the West. What they lack most is historical education.

Of course, if they really like the West, they can go to the West to enjoy the freedom, democracy and human rights of the West.

But no matter where you are, you will eventually have to support yourself, unless you are a dog.

Can you read English?

West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943), is a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court holding that the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment protects students from being forced to salute the American flag or say the Pledge of Allegiance in public school. The Court's 6–3 decision, delivered by Justice Robert H. Jackson, is remembered for its forceful defense of free speech and constitutional rights generally as being placed "beyond the reach of majorities and officials".

You have the situation completely backwards.

Sure some school systems want to force their will but obviously since the Federal Government explicitly says "you can't do it" they aren't turning around and also saying "do it" too. :hitwall:

So many insecure patriots cowering to people being proud of their city, this is so cute.

What is wrong with we are Hong Kong? May I know? They never say Hong Kong is not part of China?

And even PRC allow Hong Kong to participate under the name of Hong Kong... So? Any problem?

I love Hong Kong too.. :enjoy:
