ISLAMABAD: The city police on Monday claim to have arrested an alleged terrorist who was involved in the last two suicide attacks in capital, besides several ambushes against security forces and slaughtering informers after his four days mysterious disappearance.
Besides which he was a handler and facilitator of suicide bombers, providing them safe shelters, identify targets and surveying the target areas. The alleged terrorist Fidaullah is extremely high profile and a student of Jamia Faridia.
The police claimed that the alleged terrorist a native of village Swari, Buner and a student of a religious seminary was arrested from Aabpara on Monday, but the sources in police ranks contradict it.
The sources said that the accused, a student of the Jamia Faridia was handed over to the police last night by an intelligence agency, they said, adding that the accused along with a former MNA from Kurk NA-15 Shah Abdul Aziz and the driver of a rented car were picked up outside the residence of Maulana Abdul Aziz(Lal Masjid Cleric), in street 31 Sector G-6/1-3 at around 11:00am on May 27.
The alleged terrorist along with dozens of other students of seminaries was already booked by the city police in connection with separate cases, including creating law and order situations and attacking law enforcers in 2007. However, he was released on bail, and the case hearing was scheduled at an Anti-Terrorist Court on May 28.
On other hand, Senior Superintendent of Polcie Tahir Alam Khan in a hurriedly call news conference told media persons that the police found clues leading to Fidaullah during the interrogation of two arrested suspects Khairullah and Khuram Shezad, who are also students of the seminary in connection with suicide attacks on the Special Branch and Frontier Constabularys barracks on March 23 and April 4.
The accused during interrogations disclosed that Fidaullah was involved in both the suicide attacks. The Islamabad police started a hunt for him, but he fled to Swat and Buner where he started fighting against the security forces along with the other militants.
He along with the local Taliban, including Fateh Khalil, Mula Burjan, and Tehrik-e-Talibans commander Abu Sufian and 30 to 35 other militants were taking part in terrorist activities against the security forces there.
SSP Khan further alleged that the accused along with other militants was also involved in killing three locals at Sultanwas and Pirbaba on the suspicions of the security forces informers.
The alleged terrorist also set up a terrorist network called the Ghazi Force with the support of Taliban militants namely Niaz Rahim, Habibullah, Ajmal and other. The said network had been set up in the area of Guljo, Hungo where the militants trained in various terrorism skills, including making explosives, ambushing, sharp shooting and firing.
Fidaullah also brainwashed the students of the capitals seminaries and transported them to Waziristan for terrorist and suicidal training in the name of Jihad, since 2007. However, only one was identified yet who was a teenager and a student at the seminary, located in Golra. Efforts under way to trace the teenager, the SSP added.
