Here are the multiple international cars making their way into the country this December.
The automotive industry in Pakistan is in full swing as multiple international cars are making their way into the country this December under Pakistan’s First Auto Policy (2016-2021). The new entrants, ranging from SUVs to Sedans, means that local buyers will now have an extensive range of vehicle choices when it comes to car purchasing.

Here is a list of all the new cars set to launch or hit the market in December:

Changan Alsvin:
Launch Date: 11th of December 2020
Expected Price: Rs. 2.5 million
Changan Alsvin, a sedan car, will initially be launched in Pakistan as CBUs. As per reports, the salient features of the vehicle will include:

• 1480cc engine, with 106hp and 145Nm torque
• 5-Speed DCT Auto Transmission
• Height Adjustable Halogen Projector headlamps
• Parking sensors
• Panoramic sunroof
• Cruise Control
• 2 airbags
• 7-inch touchscreen

Proton X70:
Launch Date: 18th of December 2020
Expected Price: not revealed
Proton X70, a compact SUV, was first unveiled on the 9th of December 2020. The vehicle’s FWD variant will be digitally launched in Pakistan on the 18th of December 2020, while its local production will begin in April 2021. As per reports, the salient features of the vehicle will include:

• 1500cc Turbocharged engine, producing 177hp and 255Nm Torque
• 7-Speed Auto DCT transmission
• 5 passenger seating capacity

Glory 580 Pro:
Launch Date: 20th of December 2020
Expected Price: Rs. 4.4 million
FWD variant of the Glory 580 Pro, a compact SUV, will be launched in Pakistan. As per reports, the salient features of the vehicle will include:

• 1500cc Turbocharged engine, which produces 150hp and 220Nm Torque
• CVT transmission
• LED front lights
• Electric+heated side view mirrors
• 360-degree camera
• 18-inch alloy rims
• 7-passenger seating capacity

Corolla Cross:
Launch Date: third or fourth week of December 2020
Expected Price: Rs. 8.5 million
Corolla Cross, an SUV by Toyota Indus Motors (IMC), will initially be launched in Pakistan as CBUs because it is a highly sought after car. As per reports, the salient features of the vehicle will include:

• 1798cc engine, which produces 168hp and 305Nm Toque
• Direct Shift CVT transmission
• LED headlamps and DRL’s (topline variant), halogen lamps (low-end variant)

These cars are way expensive as compared to gulf prices of these cars. Government should introduce & implement a ceiling price to deny their looting strategies in Pakistan.
These cars are too expensive for an average middle class family.
