h2.post-title { margin-bottom: 3.5%; }

Pakistan’s next major port city Gwadar is paving its way to become the economic powerhouse of not only the country but the entire region. The two major aspects contributing to the success of Gwadar are its port and the recently started CPEC initiative, China has invested a total of $47 billion in the CPEC initiative.

With over 30 projects under the umbrella of CPEC, these projects are sure to bring economic prosperity in Pakistan, and leading to the development of the province. These projects have sparked a sort of land rush, with people rushing toward Gwadar property.

Here are some of the major projects being developed under CPEC:-

1. CPHGC 1,320MW Coal-fired Power Plant, Hub, Baluchistan

It is one the biggest and major energy producing project under the CPEC, according to the CPEC website the commercial operational date of this massive project is in 2018/2019.

2. Expansion and Reconstruction of Existing Line ML-1
Pakistan also seeks to improve and upgrade the already existing railway lines, which run through Lahore-Karachi and Peshawar, removing sharp turns and long routes between them, to reduce the journey time between them.

3. Pak China Friendship Hospital
It is planned on 68 acres of land, and will have 6 medical blocks with each block having around a capacity of 50 beds. The hospital is also going to have individual paramedic facilities, medical institution, laboratories and state of the art facilities. The hospital will also have a complete supply of medical equipment and machinery.

4. Development of Gwadar University (Social Sector Development)
China plans to develop a world class institution with collaboration between Chinese universities and University of Gwadar, which will offer many disciplines.

5. Special Economic Zone-Bostan Industrial Zone
This special economic zone is going to be established on a land of 1000 acres, these SEZ are going to be given tax amnesty and lower rates of electricity to boost development. These zones will have a variety sub-projects which will be on fruit processing, oil processing, vehicle manufacturing and many more.

So it is evident that with this many major commercial and industrial projects starting and being developed all over Pakistan and specifically Baluchistan, they will not only boost the economy of the country but will also make Pakistan a financial power.
