I can't vote because I'm abroad. If you have any knowledge Election Commission Pakistan did not provide voting facilities to Pakistanis abroad. If facilities were provided then I would have casted my vote.

Hence is the reason @war&peace flew to Pakistan to cast his vote.

I find it strange why so many outsiders would take interest.

Bhai, I wasn't born in Pakistan, I've never lived in Pakistan, I've only visited on holidays, but for me it's home. It is strange, but that's love for you! Abroad, we might love where we live, we might feel at home amongst our families and friends, but we're always treated as outsiders. 99% of the time things are great, but when it comes to the crunch we're different. In Pakistan I look like an outsider, people know from my mannerisms i'm an outsider, but you get treated all the same (apart from by crooks).

My forefathers shed blood to win this country, at a time when the Muslim world was being carved up and divided through the efforts of our people, Allah granted us a nation. It was a blessed moment, only fools would lose their connection to it. People like me aren't abroad coz we want to live like goray, we're abroad because of poverty if we had stayed at home, lack of opportunity etc.

I wish betterment for Pakistan, progress for Pakistan, maybe in my lifetime conditions might not improve to the level where I can leave all this and go back, but maybe my children will be able to. I could personally leave the UK and live in Pakistan and live a very comfortable life today. We have a home, we have farming land, I have IT skills, but my children won't have the same facilities available to them. I got what I have because i studied, but could I afford to give my children the same quality of education in Pakistan? Probably not. It is available, but only for those with wealth. Could I afford to give my parents the same level of healthcare they get in the UK? Not a chance.

For me to leave would be selfish, it would disadvantage people who rely on me. Thats why I wish and pray for the best for Pakistan, so that one day we can come back home and life a dignified life without any special privilege. I want a Pakistan where the sons and daughters of taxi drivers can be Doctors, or engineers or the Mayor of Islamabad.
