I was thinking recently what is the point of China's war on a very small tiny minority group of people who are roughly 15M in total who live in a isolated corner of china.
Xinjiang pose zero threat to China and this has been the case for probably the last 1000 years. They have never attacked China because they were even lower minority before that.
So you have a group of a very small minority who are clearly not stupid and understand that nobody wins a war against giant china who stand 1.3 billion strong and someone has to be extremely retarded to even fancy that. The Xinjiang based people just want to live and have no political ambitions within china and always go overseas for such activities.
So I don't really see the point in China coming down on them? There is absolutely no logical reason for it whatsoever. It's like killing without reason or motives.
This puts China in a extremely bad light being aggressive against people who have historically never been aggressive against them nor pose any threat towards them.
The level of exaggeration in how the chinese gov't came down on this people lacks any common sense and lacks context, reasoning, planning and everything. This simple decision showcases incompetent ruling elite.
You identify first a threat then you take action but you don't go to places where there is no threat and exaggerate as if this was WW3 or doomsday setting up camps that is extremely exaggeration and it dosen't make sense to any person with intellect. I am actully pro-china but this one never made any intellectual sense to me. I tried to look at it from so many different aspects and angles but I couldn't find anything
