Late Hamid Gul is one of the ISI chief we had. He was on ground in Afghanistan for a longer time than any other military professional and had the opportunity to interact will all the different groups and he had the best insight. Furthermore, he never left the country after retirement to do serve and lived a pretty modest and simple life for general of his calibre. Hence I believe his opinions are honest and firmly founded on the deep insight.
