Was waiting for that as someone out of U wud just stand up and start chest thumping for the taking revenge. That reminds me that how TTP lay claim to each and everything happening out there and so is the case with U guys. Dont worry we are not going to hit back as Kashmiris, Naxals, Maoists etc themself are more than enough to equalize the score, not for us but for themselves. And we would not be doing any chest thumping for that and neither wud we be enjoying your tears which U shed on each cock and bull event out there and start blaming others just to hide your own incompetence. And dont worry we will not carry out encounter of any innocent like U do esp in Kashmir to rattle some bottles out there.

If i ask anyone of you to name any 10 cities of punjab, it would be very easy. however if i ask you to name just 10 cities of Baluchistan, many would not know above 5.

To understand the recent attacks on FC/Police, its significant to view the history of Baluchistan rather than just focusing on security measures in Quetta. The history can be read online, however there can be two solutions to bring peace into the region.

POLITICAL Solution:

1. Bring up the percentage of GDP share which has been dropped since 4 -5 decades. This will ensure spreading of basic amnesties in the 13 cities of Baluchistan. These include medical, educational and commercial setups. This will help battle the infant mortality rate, literacy rate and the poverty rate which are rated the highest in Baluchistan amongst provinces in Pakistan. This should eliminate the nomadic lifestyle of locals.

2. Its the largest province of Pakistan with the least population. This should be the industrial hub of Pakistan and there are two reasons for that:
a. Labour will be cheap here (atleast at start of different projects)
b. Shift defence industries away from Eastern and Northern borders towards South-West.

The population is also less because Balochis have to migrate to Sindh and KPK for jobs and better livelihood. There is a protest also that local population was not used in construction of Gawadar port, as its hard to find skillful labour from Baluchistan.

3. There is a very big money disparity between the local population and the elites (local Sardars/Nawabs,Government officials). The locals lack basic amnesties whereas Sardars/Nawabs and Govt officials own huge vast lands, travel in Mercs,Lexus etc, and control businesses.
The GOP can take this in favour, winning the hearts and minds of locals by providing them lands, by giving them soft loans to start businesses, by giving them jobs in government institutes on lucrative salary packages in compared to local salaries offered by Sardars/Nawabs who make them work on their lands.

4. Its important that GOP either takes Sardars/Elites in their confidence or they take away the power from them. There is a lack of trust between both parties. Taking them in confidence is somewhat difficult also since the incident of death of Nawab Dera Bugti. These Sardars/Nawabs/Elites want share in the resources of Baluchistan including shares in Sui gas and they do get royalties though lower than sindh and punjab provinces however the royalties are based on provinces income, which in Baluchistan case is very low.
The negotiation for mining of natural resources involving foreign companies also left Sardars/Nawabs unsatisfied.
.The income of Baluchistan province can be increased through the points mentioned above which will help the common man also and will then increase royalties also. There is huge investment going in Gawadar project which can make economy of Baluchistan better. If GOP takes these Sardars/Nawabs in its confidence then most of the Baluchistan resistance and its elements will starts diminishing.

5. Roads and infrastructure needs to get upgraded in interior Baluchistan. The making of CPEC main artery will have little effect on the interior of Baluchistan as it runs North-South only. There are no motorway type projects in Baluchistan which connect it East-West, there was highway which again ran North-South.

MILITARY Solution:

The best step carried by Pakistan Armed Forces was relaxing of rules to enlist local Baluchi youth. This changed the image of the Armed Forces to some extent in local population which had been devastated by the military actions since birth of Pakistan.

1. Pakistan Army has two infantry divisions, an independent infantry brigade and an independent armoured brigade under 12 Corps in Quetta. Both the 33rd ID and 41st ID are headquartered in Quetta along with Corps HQ. The infantry brigade is in Turbat while the armoured brigade is in Khuzdar.
Its main purpose was to support 5 Corps during war but recently its units have used extensively in operations conducted in Baluchistan and KPK, NWA/FATA region.
In order to fully combat the BLA as well as other similar organizations, PA would need to employ more regular troops and assets in the Baluchistan to expel insurgency. Since Op Zarb e Azab is now almost completed, PA can use its aviation assets as well as Northern reserve of 17 ID and 37 ID to bolster 12 Corps and eliminate BLA.
The newly formed Pakistan Naval Marines can also be put into combat to fight alongside Army.

There are almost

2. There are roughly 11-15 wings of FC in Baluchistan. FC is mostly deployed in and around Quetta. It takes the brunt of every action just like in KPK but has been modernized with new equipment as well as new units like SOW (spec ops wing), a tank regiment etc. FC still moves around in unarmoured trucks which makes ambushing them very easy and since they are the first line of defence, they face more causalities.
If any operation is to put in action to flush out BLA etc, FC will be used alongside PA and then it should be sent to the borders.

3. The newly raised Levies and the Baluchistan police force numbering somewhere about 40,000 are still under equipped though some 5000 levies are trained on a better level to combat insurgency. Without proper protection and equipment, they will again be easy targets by BLA. Its hard to imagine Baluchistan levies with NVG's, armoured trucks, body armor/kevlars but lets hope for the best.
Pakistan likes to raise new forces, but raising a new force doesnt mean that the ops will be successful, sometimes a handful of veterans with proper equipment and support elements can do the job swiftly and less causalities. More numbers raised are probably a show of force to control more areas though pakistan may put protection of Gawadar/CPEC routes as top priority of Baluchistan Levies.

4. Pakistan Army should make small cantonments (with CMH/schools etc) through deployment of FC/Levies in cities (other than quetta/khuzdar/turbat/Gawadar) of Baluchistan. The medical treatment of locals should be at nominal cost at CMH. Army Public schools should be opened. More defence housing schemes should be setup as the inducted Baluchi officers will also retire someday and may want to live in their local cities.

5. Pakistan Military and Government law enforcement agencies should make local emergency centres in all cities of Baluchistan to respond to emergencies of local people. The civilian staff should be locals and well versed in local languages.

6. FWO/NLC should be given contracts to improve road network in Baluchistan just as its has been done in Punjab.

7. The Technical colleges of Army like EME/AMC etc should also open a wing or campus in Baluchistan. Otherwise new technical establishments should be set up in Baluchistan. GITE and BITE have already been opened by PA apart from education city in Sui.

8. Fence the border with Iran.

.
The Indian pets of BLA and BRA needs to be fixed.
Hunt down these paid agents and sent them back to hell , where they belong.
Lt.Gen Ammir Riaz is on the job, he is a no BS guy, straight shooter, he will take care of it.

.
It shows poor training, no awareness of situation and quick response, not proper weaponry as it should be cqb (close quarter battlefield) trained not G3's, no safety helmet and bullet proof vests and no damage to attackers

QUETTA: Four paramilitary personnel were killed in an attack by gunmen in the provincial capital of Balochistan Quetta, officials said Wednesday.

The incident took place on the busy Double Road in Quetta, officials said.

All four personnel belonged to the Frontier Corps paramilitary force.

The incident took place a day after four policemen were killed by unidentified gunmen in two separate incidents in the same city.

In the first incident Tuesday, a group of criminals ambushed a police party on the Double road as they were preparing to launch an arrest raid. The police driver and another officer were injured and died from their wounds before they could be transferred to hospital.

In a second attack, two gunmen on a motorbike opened fire at a pair of police officers in a minority Hazara community area as they were going to buy food for their evening meal. Both policemen died at the scene.

I don't understand FC and police are definitely different right ? If I am not wrong FC is the equalent of indian BSF or CRPF but the article only Says police so why you mentioned FC

So ipso facto, you are admitting that India is involved in the unrest in Baluchistan; perhaps even the murder of the Children in Peshawar? You rejoice in that I believe?

RIP to the soldiers.
Never easy loosing people in line of duty.

I hope our brothers from across the border echo the same sympathy when our soldiers are killed by terrorists.

LEJ dogs have claimed responsibility but question is why on earth we are not buying 50 Muhafiz III or Cobra II or similar vehicles and given to Rangers in Karachi and FC in Quetta. If we can test latest Guns and Tanks and Attack helicopters and buy submarines I think buying 80 to 100 Muhafiz III or Cobra II should not be that bigger problem.

BLA and BRA are pretty much dead organisation now it's LEJ and TTP who claimed responsibility on the attack on Police and next day attack on FC
