Just to let you know, there has never ever been a sectarian strife in GCC, Lebanon Yemen, Iraq and Syria before 2003, I have never heard of Shea murder in KSA and other aforementioned countries. Such strife exists where Iran has influence, in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Bahrain.

Shia numbers are too small in GCC, Alawaites are in power in Syria and Lebanese muslims have bigger fish to fry. Ironically there is no Shia-Sunni strife in India either.

Dude just go to Lucknow and see...there is no riots as such..but the distrust is there. Shia and Sunni mohallas are clearly marked.

Only the reality of both being a minority and the need to present a united front to the majority stops them from going at each other's throats.

Even in policy matters they differ often. In the high profile Ram janmabhoomi case an influential Shia organization wanted the land be transferred to Hindus as a goodwill gesture..but it was the Sunni orgs who blocked that.

There are many shias around the Quetta area but much of the conflict is concentrated in Hazar Ganji area for a reason. It is a historically ethinic dispute between Hazaras and Baluchs!

There are very large imam bara in Rawalpindi,Lahore,Peshawar and in almost all cities..

As far as Gilgit is concerned you outsiders are unaware of the situation there. The secterian violence there had been rooted in tribal wars always which turns into Secterian ones with interference from anti-State elements having links with other countries

And people forgetthat Hunza being part of baltistan is also the birth place and center of Agha khanis..who also call themselves shia..
Agha khanis are one of the richest people of Pakistan as they are large business owners..
North of Gilgit yoy seldom find any mosque..its all jamaat khana..
If Pakistan was such an anti shia country..one shia sect wont be such huge success in business,and wouldnt have most part of baltistan to their own.
