Since the Iranian revolution and long before that, the United States has shown acute interest in Iran. Both countries have gone through a love-hate relationship for many years. So what is your point? As far as human rights goes, no nation on earth is perfect with respect to human rights. However, the US has helped more people achieve more freedom and rights in their lives than any other country in the last century. The US cannot overthrow every dictator. And, when it does take some action, it is critiized for meddling in other countries affairs.
