Grand Designs: Striking Images of Buildings from China in 2017 Sony Photography Competition
24 March 2017

Some buildings and structures are stunning to behold at first glance, while others reveal themselves as something special when they’re shown at a certain angle, as these incredible images demonstrate. The pictures are all shortlisted and commended entries in the architecture category of the 2017 Sony World Photography Awards - the world's largest photography competition.

Images from the competition will be displayed at London's Somerset House between April 21 and May 7, 2017. The winners will be announced on April 20.

Here are some images from China:

.
The very first building looks great here! Whenever my family came across the National Centre for the Performing Arts during the daytime in the past, we joked it was a giant cap due to its odd design. That scenery with the evening lighting in this picture however is absolutely spectacular.
