Islamabad: The National Youth Assembly (NYA) has urged the government to nominate Malala Yousafzai, a member of the NYA, for the Nobel Peace Prize.
President National Youth Assembly Hanan Ali Abbasi has said that NYA believes that as an international symbol of freedom and education, Malala deserves the award more than anyone else.
Malala is the most precious asset of the NYA, and we have launched a global campaign on social media for her justifiable projection and right, informed Hanan.
He said She fulfills the criteria of the Nobel Peace Prize for her leading role in the peace process which today characterises important parts of the international community. She is now considered as a lifelong ardent worker and symbol for international peace around the world. Her brave and sacrificial act should be recognised and honoured.
Hannan said Malala stands for education, progress and the advancement of all children of all ages. She stands for ideals that value girls and women and their equal place in human society. And though seriously wounded, she still stands for those ideals today.
He said, A cowardly attack on Malala is not justifiable in any way by any humane progressive society, especially on women and child. He also added that the US should not manoeuvre predator attacks in Pakistani soil while justifying it with Malalas attack and the ruling regime of the US should not use her name for its political gain.
