Govt to sign free trade deal with Sri Lanka

Honestly i'm not sure, I dont think Lanka either produce or export crude.. I was directly quoting Wiki, Maybe they were referring to refined oil products ?? @Godman

We are still exploring for Natural gas and Oil in Mannar with Total S.A. We have other petrochemical and lubricant industries

My experience as well .....:-)
Indians are not much of business minded people. Mostly lazy as hell.
I was trying to make few contacts in India and China for the last one week. I had an inclination towards India as it is easy to travel and easy to transport. I have not received a single reply from any of my leads from India but I am already saturated with Chinese replies. And more so, Chinese are not afraid to disclose any technology or business secret which may help the other party in closing the deal. Tell you one thing Indians probably lost a sum of 50 crore and in the long run few more hundred crores if eventually project flies. ;)
Yeah. Few of my acquaintances who do outsourcing told me that that they sometimes have problems with first time clients cause they thinks we are the same as indians. Very unprofessional. But they say it's most likely few bad apples. Every industry in every country has those.

Look at all these lazy Indian workers:

No wonder Volvo is closing shop (forget expanding!) and moving to much more productive non-lazy BD!

The problem is that in India the number of cheaters and frauds vastly outnumber the genuine businessmen. Cheatery begets cheatery and the number of tauts and frauds are legion in India. That's why foreigners hate doing business with anyone other than the larger business houses in India.

Possessing a more or less spineless law and order scenario, and banking on only meek cowardice of the general population, you cannot hope to get any redress in India if some 'businessman' commits business fraud e.g. with letter of credit fraud.

You are left holding the bag essentially. The frauds in India know their home turf and regulations way better.

This is the reason Bangladeshi exporters have had a checkered record exporting to India - while they don't have issues exporting anywhere else.

. . .
Don't we already have a free trade deal under SAARC?
These have different agreements. By signing bilateral trade agreements we can concentrate on areas according the interests of the two nations

Despite being 'evil Banyas' ?

But @Bilal9 thinks that Volvo merely does CKD assembly in India. He also claims that Chinese buses will soon take over the market in India.

. . .
Whatever you say Doc. I'm sure that you know a lot about 'industry'

Seeing how many BeeDees flee each year to India for basic treatment, it seems they vote with their feet about Doc and his industry experts ;)
