ISLAMABAD: Privatization Minister Naveed Qamar has said the upcoming budget would provide relief to the salaried class and the masses.
After wrapping a debate on price hike and economy in the Senate, Privatization Minister Naveed Qamar said resolving the countrys economic problems is the top priority of the government and the upcoming budget will provide immense relief to the masses.
He said, the budget would aim at reducing staple food prices, and bring respite to salaried class.
He said the budget deficit would be reduced this year to five percent from 8.5percent. The deficit will be further cut in the next year.
He said, although the government has given a subsidy of 150 billion rupees on petroleum products, the countrys fiscal position is precarious something which will require the government to take difficult decisions.
