Govt approves funds for construction of Astore-Neelum AJK Road, Tunnel Project

ISLAMABAD, Feb 21 (APP): Minister for Excise and Taxation Gilgit-Baltistan Muhammad Naseer Khan has said the Government has approved funds for construction of Astore-Neelum AJK Road a nd Tunnel Project. Talking to a private news channel, he said that work on this project would be started this year. He said that Astore-Neelum Valley Road via Shountar will be alternative of Karakoram Highway and its construction will reduce distance between Gilgit and Rawalpindi by 8 to 10 hours. He said the road, after construction, will bring people of Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK further close.

Is there a completion date mentioned too or only a start date for this tunnel? We are still digging the Lowari tunnel with two spoons.
