Government publishes Model Town report

Government has published Model Town report after an appeal to overturn the decision of a lower court to publish it has been rejected by the High Court.

The report can be downloaded from DGPR's website, however, the website is inaccessible.

There are two reports..

1 - Report of One-Man Committee for Review of Report of Tribunal of Inquiry into Minhaj-ul-Quran Complex, Model Town, Lahore Incident.

2 - Report of Inquiry Tribunal by Mr. Justice Ali Baqar Najafi Judge Lahore, (High Court Lahore)

Tahir ul Qadri has raised serious question on the authenticity of Baqir Najfi's report. On page 65, date of 16-06-2017 is mentioned in the first line of conclusion. Obviously, 16-06-2017 can't be a clerical error as people are habitual of typing the current year. I sometimes commit this mistake as well. It means that the contents have been altered and whoever has done so, has done it in 2017.

I would have believed that it was a clerical error had it been 2013.. as people still write previous year sometimes because of habit... but that too in initial months of the new year.. but this? no way...

The date issue got me thinking a little... if you look at your number pad the 7 key is right above the 4 key, so it could be a typo to put 2017 instead of 2014. However, going by the Sharif's track record I won't be surprised if the report has been tampered with.
