Government policies start yielding fruits: minister
LAHORE (November 28 2005): The Punjab Co-operatives Minister Colonel Malik Mohammad Anwer (Retd) has said that present government's effective economic policies have started yielding fruits and now President Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz's dream of making Pakistan 'Asian Tiger' is going to turn into reality.
The government's well-conceived economic policies have also attracted world attention and international investors and institutions are coming to Pakistan, he said while talking to various groups of industrialists who called on him here. The minister said that the government is establishing industrial zones in Punjab to eliminate unemployment and poverty. Counting other achievements of the government he pointed out that it, due to its best strategy, has revived various dead industrial units, which is a big achievement.
The government is offering various incentives to industrialists and investors so as to make the provinces strong and stable in industrial and agricultural sectors, the minister further said. About housing sector, he said tit had now become an industry and people were making secured investments in this sector. By amending the old Co-operative Act 1925, the government has closed doors for forgers and plunderers for ever.
