GoPro Inc. jumped as much as 8.8 percent after a report said Chinese electronics maker Xiaomi Corp. has weighed whether to make an offer for the action-camera maker.

GoPro rose to as high as $5.30, the biggest jump since Feb. 14, and was trading at $5.16 at 1:24 p.m. in New York.

Updates with shares in final paragraph. A previous version of this story corrected the market valuation.

That would be a win-win. And help ease Trump's concerns of a trade imbalance.

I support it.

Go pro is a losing money business. They are better things to buy.

china should ban chinese companies from buying dying 'murican companies. lenovo was profitable before they bought motorola, now losing money YoY. same with TCL that bought blackberry. TCL is still profitable due to their strong lcd core business, but their mobile business is a black hole. if they don't dump that business, they'll become like lenovo.

Would it be an option to buy the company, acquire the most valuable assets (if any) then kill the brand name and remove a competition.

On the other hand, if the brand is about to go bankrupt, that means, buying them out is actually a bail out.
