Goodbye Russian Natural Gas! Lithuania signs US deal!!!

Good luck, that is if it ever is complete. It is difficult to invest that kind of money when a country is 18 trillion in debt, unless oil companies can afford to cover the cost, but considering the financial losses that they have taken and are expecting to take, this is questionable. Cost wise Russia sells some of the cheapest oil in the world, so the chances of Lithuania getting a better deal....slim.

Don't worry, it will be completed. We're the wealthiest nation in the world by a very, very long way. We have 83 trillion dollars in wealth which is close to 3rd of all the wealth in this world. So we'll be fine. But thanks for your concern though. It just warms my cockles of my heart to know that you're this concerned about our financial well-being.

?? What do you mean? You know underwater pipeline is used to transport LPG right?
A previous poster spoke of "people are laying cable somewhere over the atlantic". Hence 'liguid gas' > requires pipeline, not cable.

well, you do need to lay pilot cable in place as the seabed is not exactly flat....

Thats is the very first stage to lay underwater pipeline. Also flexible pipeline were sometime called cable, contrast to rigid pipeline...

You never fail to demonstrate ignorance. Firstly I was talking about Lithuania, secondly if Lithuanian does receive gas from the US they will need to either built a new terminal or link it to an existing terminal.

So what, is that impossible ? It'll be done, genius. Stop trying to out-think yourself. You are losing.:usflag:

dude, America is 18 trillion in debt but they are no where broke, America can invest 500 billions in a stealth fighter, do you think the American is poor enough to lay underwater pipeline?

Plus laying pipeline to EU mean the oil company have a new market, so they are effectively paying money to make money, you should not be that short sighted
Then why US defense bother a defense shrink and conservation in 2014 since its so rich? :D

dude, the shrink is becuase we are trying to wrap up the war, when a war is ongoing, its only logical to spend more, and its also lotical for the budget to get down once the war or wars are over.

Not having to pay Pakistani aide alone drop 10 billions dollar.

Mind you, the US military still spening 640illions in 2014, a drop of 45 billions from 2013

This whole game in Europe against Russia was to wean Europe away from Russian energy. US wants to sell its gas to Europe.

Is it gonna be more expensive?

It will be more expensive, but the Russophobic Lithuanian government doesn't care. Its all about marginalizing Russia so they can sleep better at night LOL. Alot of these countries hate Russia and are willing to cut off their noses to spite their faces. Look at Poland for example, which went along with US sanctions against Russia and as a result lost a big customer for their produce. They then started demanding that we buy all the produce the Russians would have bought to offset these losses. This deal is just similar stupidity. Russia has more natural gas and is closer. Even if the price was kept down the shipping costs would be astronomical. I'm thinking if we're against Russia why stop with Lithuania? Why don't we sign a similar deal with Russia's main customer Germany? That would really be a body blow to Russia wouldn't it? The Germans are not that stupid.

So, if you are aware of this, what's the miscommunication then?

That would appear to be a minor struggle in the big scheme of things as far as production is concerned....
World's Largest Oil and Gas Companies (By production)
Russia: OAO Gazprom, OAO Rosneft, OAO Lukoil
USA: ExxonMobile, Chevron, ConocoPhillips
Europe: BP (UK), Total (France), Shell (Netherlands)

DIfferent ball game as far as REVENUE is concerned.

Americans are so desperate at selling their gas, lol. Signing a gas deal with Lithuania is a "great victory" for them.

Lithuania is a country with barely 1 million population. A county with almost zero industry (Industry consume much more gas then ordinary people on their kitchens).

"Great achievement", indeed! :enjoy:
