NEW DELHI: Defence MinisterManohar Parrikar on Tuesday said that a visit to Pakistan is like a visit to hell itself. He made this remarkable comparison while commenting on aninfiltration plot foiled on Independence Day near the Line of Control in Kashmir.

Five soldiers were killed in encounters with security forces in Uri, resulting in the fourth foiled infiltration plot in the last three weeks.

"Our soldiers sent back five terrorists yesterday. Going to Pakistan is the same as going to hell," Parrikar said, according to ANI. "Pakistan has encouraged terrorism, and now they are facing consequences of that policy," he also said.

Pakistan has encouraged terrorism, and now they are facing consequences of that policy: Defence Min Manohar Parrikar

10:15 AM - 16 Aug 2016

Yesterday was the bloodiest Independence Day in Jammu and Kashmir's history. In Srinagar, a CRPF jawan was martyred, and two terrorists killed, in yet another encounter.

Parrikar's comments reflect the Indian government's perceptibly hardened stance on Pakistan since the unrest in the Kashmir Valley began in July when separatist militant Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter by security forces. Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif went so far as to call Wani a 'martyr' and say that July 19 would be observed as a 'black day' in solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

In the past week, prominent members of the Cabinet - lead by Prime Minister Modi himself - have strongly criticized Pakistan's role in fomenting terror and unrest in the Kashmir Valley and perpetrating egregious human rights violations in Pakistan's Balochistan province.

On Monday, PM Modi in his Independence Day speech sent a strong message to Pakistan saying he was grateful to the people of Balochistan, Gilgit and Azad Kashmir, for thanking him for his criticism of the "atrocities" committed in those places by the Pakistan government and its forces.

Late last week, Home Minister Rajnath Singh told the Rajya Sabha that "no power on earth" could separate Kashmir from India. His declaration came after Pakistan PM suggested that Kashmir wasn't India's internal matter, and was the "unfinished agenda of the UN."

Rewari: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi openly came out in support of "freedom" for Balochistan and "Azad Kashmir", Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday equated Pakistan to hell.

He added that since Pakistan has failed to inflict major damage, it is looking to inflict smaller wounds, reported CNN-IBN.

Parrikar, who was in Haryana`s Rewari to participate in `Jara Yaad Karo Qurbaani` programme, said, "Yesterday, our soldiers sent back five terrorists. Going to Pakistan is the same as going to hell."

"Pakistan has always been promoting terrorism. Now sometimes, even it is bearing the consequences of terrorism," he added.

Parrikar also said that if anybody decides to attack India, the country will not remain silent.

He said that the Indian soldiers will give a befitting reply to every attack.

The minister added that Azad Kashmir (Azad Kashmir) is a part of India and the violation of human rights should stop in Balochistan.

Modi's references to Balochistan and Pakistani Kashmir had not gone down well with Pakistan.

Defence MinisterManohar Parrikar on Tuesday said that a visit to Pakistan is like a visit to hell itself.

And apparently he is the Defence Minister who has history of mincing words when on media. So much so that even led to such an immature stature

as he himself admitted:

"I will not speak much. Because if I speak, people start looking for things (in it)," Mr Parrikar added."

But here we are again. His such comments are childish and totally unbecoming of a politician and that too a Defence minister.

Of course for low lives like him, Pakistan is hell ......................

But what your Home Minister said, and did, was all right.

Of course.

That is not much of a justification. Lame, at best.

I disagree with Parrikar's premise that going to Pakistan is the same as going to Hell.

Cheers, Doc
