GOI approves separate Passport and Flag for Nagas: NSCN-IM

KOHIMA: In a landmark move, the Government of India has accepted the new political concept of Nagas in order to resolve the indo-Naga issue at the earliest thereby paving the way for building a separate entity for the Nagas. RH Raising, Kilo Kilonser (Home Minister) of NSCN-IM mentioned this while stating that the Government has accepted the new political ideology.

The peace accord signed between NSCN-IM and the Government of India was a historic achievement for the Nagas and emphasis is being given on the unique political identity of the Nagas.

Following this principal of understanding, the Nagas will now be allowed to have the liberty of having a separate passport and flag for peaceful co-existance between the two entities soon after the settlement of Indo-Naga issue.

RH Raising, Kilo Kilonser (Home Minister) of NSCN-IM stated that the Government of India has taken cognizance of the Naga issue and is willing to solve it at the earliest. According to him, Nags have never been an integral part of India nor did they ever sign any agreement with the Government of India to merge with the Indian Union.

He also urged the people to change their concept from individualism and work together to build a stronger Naga Nation.

What? So nagaland will have its own flag and Naga people will have seperate passports then the rest of the indian citizens? How does that work when they want to travel abroad?

On June 17, at a public consultative meeting on Indo-Naga peace talk at Town Hall, in Phungreitang in Manipur, the Kilo Kilonser (Home Minister) of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM), RH Raising, claimed that the government of India has agreed to allow Nagaland residents a separate passport and flag. This was reported in Manipur-based media on June 18. On June 22, the Centre issued a denial on making such an agreement.

What is this naga

Another ethnic disparate tribal group. There are many tribes in North east Naga is one of them.

Every state in India has its own flag nothing new in it. Separate passport is waste, no body will recognize it unless it has govt of India emblem.

On June 22, the Centre issued a denial on making such an agreement.

True, no main stream news agency reported and more ever such a agreement should be taken up by parliament.

The truth is GoI has approved a new passport office in Nagaland for speedy issuance of passport but they won't be in any way different than passports issued in other states.

Lol. It would be political coup for any government for accepting such a deal. I am not even favaourable for ILP for some states, as it gives them a certain right for choosing and settling other state people while more established states have none such concept. Imagine states like TN, Karnataka establishing such systems and it will only result in more North Easteners and Northerners getting jobless.

And for Tamilians too working in other states. Every state has a flag and emblem. So no big deal in it. But Passport
