This puppy is one of the top end luxury cars in China. A lot of rich people drive it like people drive S-550 and 7 series BMW in the US. This is a cash cow for GM (and many other middle income focused models too). The GM has been making a fortune from China since 2009-2010.

Well it was a boat

I drove this crap for a few months during my final school year, it was an older model with over 120K miles and beat-up like hell. I got it for 3g's and drove it for 4 months and sold it after a chick asked me if I was driving my grandpa's car . I couldn't tell her I was a poor student. So I got a second job and got a nicer looking, yet older sports car with insanely high miles. I have memories with Buick :enjoy::tup:

Yeah, that Buick isn't going to win over the ladies...unless you are at the bingo hall.
But hey it's a nice ride in the back with plenty of room.

The bold above is WHY I drove it for 4 months :enjoy:. Had to enjoy the ride and the space. It also has a lot of room in the front also. If you are like me, Chicks ONLY 125 IB's or below accepted, you'd have more than enough room whether you sit up front or use the rear :enjoy:

That's why I mentioned it!

oh and I'm all for the < 125lbs

< 115lb is more like it

Still, GM's profit went from -30 billion to +10 billion.

Without China's profitable market, they will remain red.
funny how Ford and Chrysler have also been in the green. I guess that's China doing as well :D

. . .
Never undestand Chinese consumers. China is the only large market outside of the US where GM/ Ford sells a significant amount of ugly cars.

In Germany, only people of poor taste or with a small ego :azn: drive US cars.

Yes I scratch my head too. My conclusion is mainland Chinese have bad taste in general--especially cars.

German or Japanese cars ftw! There is no point for anything else.

Buick used to be choices of governmental officials 10 to 15 years back, but not anymore. It has never been the one for Chinese new rich because it's a middle class car in China. I prefer Chinese brand because they are more cost effective. Otherwise, I would go for a US or German over the Japanese plastic cars.

LOL good one

:D

Keep changing. You can find more bad taste about model design 3 years ago. :D

But now,

SUV and EV/PHEV- domestic brands top the sales list with the design and equipment updated.

Just need another 3 years to get rid of some bad taste. :D

VW and GM are luky that they have partner like FAW and SAIC.

Well Buick was never more than a middle class car in the US too.

I doubt @Viper0011. ever felt rich driving his! But it has its pros!

Some of those Japanese plastic Lexus cars are pretty nice...um...well..uh...used to be.

Not happy with the Cylon grille...

Its funny, I saw the new IS today and the grill and man, I HATED it. Looks ugly. They used to be nice, I had a GX-450 SUV back in 06 the new model at that time. For the time it was in, it had the best GPS and tech in it and the ride was awesome. I took that baby to 120 MPH driving on highways where I knew you could do it. And it did that like a charm.

But Buick was some looks but steel solid tank. I once slipped off ice on a corner due to an ice storm that had just passed. As I was turning slightly, the car skid and hit 4 parked cars rear. It broke one's bumper and loosened up the other one.....but the Buick tank  had two very small dents on it. Barely recognizable and the other two damaged cars were Japanese because of their lighter bumpers and body. It was a treat to see the owner's faces when the police came. You don't feel rich in that car, but its reliable and its for sure strong as hell.
