He said it will increase the reservation of the Baloch ppl and we are talking about Balochistan where ppl are taking about their resources and their poverty. They want complete ownership of their resources ( some are even talking about other provinces to pay for the gas they have consumed since 1952 !!!) and we just gave another area of income to China. We all know how Badly the Nationalist will exploit this!!!

Well It is the same Nawaz Sharif who blasted 6 nuclear devices against the immense pressure of USA . If he is saying something ,it should be taken very seriously and if he is saying that Balochis are not taken into confidence it matters a lot . If local public is not with you how can you operate any port ?????????? Take it seriously.

Well , I didn't see your lot asking this question when the port operation was given to Singapore Port Trust ... The only reason that it has been given to Chinese now , as I see it is because that PSA demonstrated " deliberate incompetence " in handling the port's operation since their interests lie elsewhere ... Pakistan will not have that problem with Beijing at least ...

Don't bring Iqbal into this, he died decades ago, while world politics change daily so policies are bound to change. What you suggest about alliance of NATO / EU, countries are busy sharing their laws, currencies etc so you can see the world's politics is fast changing. Also china is long ally of Pakistan and is far far better and trusted than US as an ally, then why shouldn't Pakistan further strengthen ties with china and make distance from US? I think its high time to do so as US is about to leave AFG soon. And above all, giving gawadar to china serves Pakistan best, to me its best possible option available right now.

Noora should also remember it was a waste barren land, China paid $275M-$300M that is 70% of the cost to develop the Gawadar Port. Now are you going to return the $300M to China or not. I don't see how this is a big deal when a Chinese company is operating a port. A Chinese company is operating the Panama canal and this is not even a big deal. There are more ways for China to threaten the security of US than operating a port in Pakistan, such as dumping US bonds.
