After approval by the US State Department in June 2019 (ESuT reported) and approval by the Budget Committee of the German Bundestag on December 11, 2019 as part of a 25 million template, the NATO Support and Procurement Agency NSPA has a procurement contract for 91 modernized AGMs -88E Guided missile to combat enemy radar (Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile, AARGM) completed.

This treaty gives Germany an improvement in its ability to fight enemy air defense (Suppression of Enemy Air Defense, SEAD).
AGM-88E is manufactured by Orbital ATK - now a business unit of Northrop Grumman. Diehl Defense does a significant part of the work for Germany.

In addition to missile procurement, the contract also includes support in the areas of technology, engineering and logistics services such as Upgrades, technical documentation and training for operators and maintenance personnel.

The AGM-88E Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) is an upgrade of the older generation of the AGM-88B High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM), which Germany first acquired in 1987.

The AGM-88E has a modern digital target search sensor, a millimeter wave (MMW) radar terminal finder and a precise GPS / inertial navigation system (GPS / INS) steering.

Diehl Defense has concluded an exclusive cooperation agreement with the US company Orbital ATK (now a business unit of Northrop Grumman) for the marketing and production of the modern anti-radar guided missile AARGM (Advanced Anti-Radar Guided Missile) in Germany. Thereafter, Diehl will take over significant parts of the work in Germany with regard to production and services in use. The conversion will take at least five years.

The AGM-88E will be procured under new guidelines for Foreign Military Sales (FMS). Thereafter, the NSPA may enter into contracts with the US government on behalf and on behalf of the end user.
