Y DNA analysis concludes in Syria Christians are descended from Greek and Roman settlers, with very little J Y chromosome, Sunnis are mostly native Syrians with a lot of J Y Chromosome, Alawites are somewhere in between. It must be said that Alawites are neither Christians nor Muslims. They are syncretic.

Jews (Cohanim) 46.0%

Assyrian NE Syria 3.3%

Syria (Ma'loula Aramaean) 6.8%

Syrian Catholic Damascus 9.5%

Alawites Syria 26.7%
