Here in-depth analysis of our 80's era Gen wrong strategy where an emotionally charged Gen lost his own soldiers in the wrong operation. A failed Jalalabad operation. Expanding Pakistan border inside Afghanistan.
Your take, please

But good news, our today's Gen are much more practical and more sensible and less emotionally charged. ( Aitzaz Ahsan)

Yeah like those inept corrupt cowards Mushy and Kiani who surrendered to a third rate american bureaucrat even though the Americans only asked them to sit and they laid down in prostration and then couldn't control the militancy for 10 years after it spilled over onto our side of the border or the totally incompetent Bajwa who has already surrendered to BLA.

War kills!
Soldiers dying in military operations is neither a new thing nor a non-practical or emotional.
Soldiers volunteer for operations knowing they might not return because they know the operation is important, not their lives, if that was not the case there will be no military anywhere.

He gave me far right vibes

So I respect his services for the nation but at the same time those views can be dangerous

It is very easy to criticize in the aftermath just like people criticize Zia for Afghan policy causing terrorism in Pakistan. This is only because we have seen the effects of decision taken by Zia and Mushy but we have not seen the effect had they not taken those decision. Pakistan today could have been a

1. Russian colony along with Afghanistan, we see the Indian influence in Afghanistan during US occupation, could it have been better or worst during Russian occupation.

2. U.S. would have attacked Afghanistan either way whether or not Mushy agreed to their demands, but if he had not agreed to it then Pakistan would have been the 12th player in Afghanistan and situation in Pakistan could have been lot worst than what we had seen.

“Forward, the Light Brigade!”
Was there a man dismayed?
Not though the soldier knew
Someone had blundered.
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die.
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

- The Charge of the Light Brigade

*Looks like some folks in Pak still miss the dirty ghettos of the Muslims in India

A certain sect in Pakistan doesn't like him...

He is dead now, may his soul rest in peace. We all make mistakes.

But I would never doubt his intentions, he was nationalist to the core. Not a perfect human surely.

USSR was going to break some time in future anyway but had USSR reached Gwadar it could have stayed a territory of Russia .The intent was crushed very early on way before even Americans jumped in.

Musharaf didnt bargain well with US. And his biggest mistake was bringing in the wave of so-called 'enlightened moderation' through media'. This incubated loads of radicals that are still hatching to date. The narrative of 'ka fir ' army was slowly built every time a general would do a silly thing and media would pick it up like ashraf qazis 40 paaray of quran.
And then of course NRO and his halting the anti corruption campaign.. Both happened because he became unpopular right away all because of the first reason given therefore Americans didnt need a mango crate to get rid of him.

Dude USSR would have baught some general to get to Gawadar or Karachi ports, it's not that hard or forget that some economic goodies or millitary stuff would have convinced Pak to find a balance between the two

if they were so vulnerable there would have been no Pakistan today..

He was a Strategist.

Such media goons and ppp leaders who serve corrupt leaders have no idea of what Strategy is.
