Mate, the question of the poll is all wrong- of course we and the IN would love to have a Growler like system operating off IN ACCs but it is not a question of will alone. As someone (probobly India) is going to have to devlop this tech , fit it and test it because you can be damn sure any EW sought from US will come with more stings than a puppet attached. Whilst India might have quite considerable expertise on the EW front it is still going to take considerable time to properly outline what is desired by the IN then fully devlop the tech to this standard then fit it to the platform (Mig-29K) then trail it, we are easily looking at 8+ years of this project started tommorow and by then the Mig-29K platform would be redundant really as all future IN ACCs are more than likely going to be CATOBAR configured. What we may see happen is the IN exercise their option for the Growler "lite" which, as yet, has been offered to India, Australia and one or two other select nations. However the IN will have to weigh up whether they want a platform that will come with as much strings attack he'd as the Growler and the IN will face the same opposition by USG on TOT front and opposition of GoI on end user aggrements and other mandatory contracts that the USG insits upon that effectively killed the F-18 SH's chances in the MMRCA.

Well it's pretty obvious the IN would love somthing like a Growler to operate off its ACCs but you have to immedialty think how is this possible? And thus you look to current fighters (Mig-29K) and you see a LOT of work will have to be put into get such a programme going and future fighters (N-MMRCA) and you think maybe the IN will look past all hang ups and for for the Growler "lite".

i'm quite noob in this field, but isn't there some proposals that stated Tejas to convert a EW testbed???

ok

but yes thats a thing to dicuss "how'??
well if we could start a similiar program like NGJ for mig 29k how would that be??? it's my personal POV that we could develop
jamming pods /system as capable as the western counterparts .I know it is int easy as it looks but we should think about it
seriously.
Well we could coperate with isreal/french even US on it

.
Couple of months back we heard news about developing Mig-27 based EW systems, what happened to that?

. . . . .
DAAKTAR saab... copyright ka khyaal rakha kijiye...

and there was a plan to make Tejas a testbed for this purpose...

.

It was an obvious jibe at DRDO.. not refuting what u said buddy :)

I am just being realistic here.. don't we need to master the radar tech completely to build jamming pods etc ? I don't think we have mastered it yet completely.. Also we keep on saying that DRDO has done a decent job in EW tech etc.. but do we have a concrete proof that we tried those EW tech on newly built Arudhra 4D AESA radar etc or the green pine radars ?
