ISLAMABAD: The officers and personnel of FC would get salaries at par with those being received by the officers and personnel of Pakistan Army, as announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in his Thursday’s address during a visit to the Pak-Afghan border at Parachinar.

ایف سی بلوچستان (سائوتھ) کے مادر وطن کے لیے قربانیوں اور خدمت کے چھ سال​

فرنٹیئر کور بلوچستان (سائوتھ) پاکستان کے جنوب مغربی حصے میں افغانستان اور ایران کے ساتھ ملک کی سرحدوں کی نگرانی اور جنوبی بلوچستان میں امن و امان برقرار رکھنے کی ذمہ دار ہے۔ یہ داخلی اور سرحدی سلامتی کے علاوہ قومی اور سٹریٹجک اہمیت کے منصوبوں کو بھی تحفظ فراہم کر رہا ہے۔ فرنٹیئر کور بلوچستان سائوتھ کا قیام جولائی 2017 میں عمل میں آیا۔ ان چھ سال کے قلیل عرصے میں، اس نئی قائم ہونے والی تنظیم نے نہ صرف خود کو منظم کیا ، اپنی افرادی قوت کو پیشہ ورانہ تربیت دی،اپنی ذمہ داری کے علاقے میں سرحدی حفاظت اور امن و امان کی بحالی کی اپنی بنیادی ذمہ داریوں کو انتہائی بہترین اور موثر انداز میں پورا کیا، بلکہ اس نے مقامی لوگوں کی فلاح و بہبود اور علاقے کی ترقی کے لیے بھی انتھک کام کیا ہے۔

بلوچستان کی صورتحال کا اگر بغور جائزہ لیا جائے تو یہ بات واضح طور پر سامنے آجاتی ہے کہ بلوچستان میں امن وامان کی صورتحال کیسی بھی ہو لیکن اس صوبہ نے ترقی اور امن کی جانب سفر جاری رکھا ہوا ہے اور دوران ترقی

کئی منصوبے تکمیل کو پہنچے ہیں جبکہ بہت سے منصوبے تکمیل کے بہت قریب ہیں اور ان پر تمام تر حالات کے باوجود ان منصوبوں پر کام جاری رکھا گیا ہے۔ بلوچستان کی خوشحالی کے لیے جہاں پر حکومت بلوچستان کوشاں ہے، وہاں پر افواج پاکستان اور ایف سی بلوچستان کی کارکردگی کا ذکر کرنا بھی ضروری ہے۔ ایف سی بلوچستان نے ہر شعبہ میں گراں قدر خدمات سر انجام دی ہیں۔ ان میں سرحدوں کیحفاظت، امن وامان کے قیام کے علاوہ تعلیم کی ترسیل، صاف پانی کی فراہمی، صحت کی سہولیات اور مختلف اوقات میں آنے والے قدرتی آفات میں گراں قدر خدمات شامل ہیں جن میں چند کا مختصر ذکر مندرجہ ذیل میں کیاجا رہا ہے۔
سرحدی حفاظت، سلامتی اور امن و امان کے شعبوں میں کوششیں :
سرحد پر باڑ لگانے کا مقصد افغانستان اور ایران کے ساتھ پاکستان کی سرحد کی نشاندہی، سرحد پار دہشت گردی کا مقابلہ، غیر قانونی نقل و حرکت اور منشیات کی سمگلنگ کو روکنا ہے۔ ایف سی بلوچستان سائوتھ کی ذمہ داری کے علاقے میں افغانستان اور ایران دونوں ممالک کی سرحدیں پاکستان

کے ساتھ لگتی ہیں۔ پاک افغان اور پاک ایران سرحدوں پر باڑ لگانے کا عمل تیزی سے جاری ہے اور اللہ کی مدد و نصرت سے یہ منصوبہ بہت جلد پایہ تکمیل کو پہنچے گا۔ ایف سی سائوتھ کی کوششوں سے اب تک پاک افغان سرحد پر 529.5کلومیٹر (95.22%)اور پاک ایران سرحد پر 937 کلومیٹر (92%) باڑ لگائی جا چکی ہے۔ اس تعمیر کے عمل کے دوران ایف سی سائوتھ کے جوانوں نے سکیورٹی کے فرائض ادا کرتے ہوئے جان کی قربانیاں بھی دیں۔ ایف سی بلوچستان سائوتھ نے ضلع کیچ میں ردیک اور ضلع پنجگور میں پاکستان ایران سرحدی مارکیٹوں کی تعمیر کے دوران سازگار ماحول فراہم کیا۔ ان سرحدی مارکیٹوں کی تعمیر سے جنوبی بلوچستان کے سرحدی عوام کے سماجی و اقتصادی حالات بہتر ہوں گے اور مقامی کاروبار کے لیے نئے مواقع پیدا ہوں گے۔
ایف سی سائوتھ اپنی ذمہ داری کے علاقے میں سٹریٹجک اہمیت کے حامل منصوبوں کو سکیورٹی فراہم کر رہاہے،جن میں سی پیک روٹ پر گوادر سے ہوشاب تک ایم 8موٹر وے کاتعمیر شدہ حصہ اور ہوشاب سے ڈسٹرکٹ آواران تک ایم 8 موٹروے کا زیر تعمیر سیکشن ہے۔اس کے علاوہ

سیندک، ریکوڈک ، سہدل اور دودر کے کاپر اور گولڈ مائن منصوبے قابل ذکر ہیں۔ جہاں تک قومی اہمیت کے منصوبوں کا تعلق ہے، ایف سی سائوتھ جنوبی بلوچستان میں او جی ڈی سی ایل اور پی پی ایل کے تحقیقی کام کو سکیورٹی فراہم کررہی ہے۔ پانی کے منصوبوں میں میرانی ڈیم، تپک ڈیم، گیشکور ڈیم، گرک ڈیم، شادی کورڈیم اور شاپک ڈیم کی منصوبوں کو سکیورٹی فراہم کی جارہی ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ ایف سی سائوتھ اپنے زمہ داری کے علاقے میں مواصلاتی نظام کی بہتری کے لیے، جس میں زیر تعمیر سڑکوں مثلا تربت سے بلیدہ، تربت سے مند، بسیمہ سے خضدار، یکمچ سے خاران اور مکرکڑ سے پروم تک سڑکوں کو بھی سکیورٹی فراہم کر رہا ہے۔
جنوبی بلوچستان میں ملک وقوم کی حفاظت، سرحدی باڑ کی تعمیر، قانون کی عملداری، سٹریٹجک اور قومی اہمیت کے حامل منصوبے کی تحفظ کے دوران ایف سی کے سیکڑوںسپوت مادر وطن کے لیے جانوں کا نذرانہ پیش کر چکے ہیں۔ وطنِ عزیز کی حفاظت کی خاطر اپنی جان کا نذرانہ پیش کرنے والے جانبازوں کی داستانیں تو ہم نے بہت سی سن رکھی ہیں۔ ان داستانوں میں جرات و بہادری کے قصے بھی ہیں اور عزم و استقلال کا ذکر بھی۔ یہ داستانیں تاریخ کے اوراق میں سنہرے حروف میں لکھے جانے کے قابل تو ہیں ہی، مگر اس کے ساتھ ساتھ یہ ہمارے لیے مشعلِ راہ کا درجہ بھی رکھتی ہیں۔ یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے جان تو دے دی مگر اپنے ملک کے باسیوں پر کوئی آنچ نہ آنے دی۔ ان جانبازوں کو جب بھی پاکستان کے غیر مسلح مگر غیور عوام کی حفاظت کا فرض سونپا گیاتو انہوں نے اپنی ہمت سے بڑھ کر اس ذمہ داری کو نبھایا۔

تعلیم کے میدان میں خدمات۔
بلوچستان رقبے کے لحاظ سے پاکستان کا سب سے بڑا اور آبادی کے لحاظ سے سب سے چھوٹا صوبہ ہے ۔یہ صوبہ قدرتی وسائل سے مالا مال ہے۔ زیور ِتعلیم سے آراستہ قومیں ہی ترقی کی اعلی راہیں طے کرتی ہیں اور ہر قوم کا روحِ رواں نوجوان طبقہ ہوتا ہے ۔ ایک تعلیم یافتہ نوجوان نہ صرف ملک کی ترقی میں اہم کردار ادا کرتا ہے بلکہ وہ معاشرتی برائیوں کا حصہ نہ بنتے ہوئے ، ملک کو درپیش اندرونی اور بیرونی چیلنجز خاص طور پر دہشت گردی کے خلاف بھی ایک مضبوط دیوار ثابت ہوتا ہے۔ بلوچستان کی شرح خواندگی اس تناسب سے نہیں بڑھی جیسے دوسرے صوبوں میں بڑھی ہے۔ شاید انہی وجوہات کی بنا پر بلوچستان میں قیامِ امن کی اپنی اولین ذمہ داری کے علاوہ ایف سی بلوچستان (سائوتھ)تعلیم کے میدان میں بھی گراں قدر خدمات سر انجام دے رہی ہے ، جس کا زندہ ثبوت ایف سی بلوچستان (سائوتھ)کے اپنی ذمہ داری کے اضلاع میں 2 ایف سی کالجز ، 5 ایف سی ہائی سکولز،1ایف سی مڈل سکولز اور 2 ایف سی پرائمری سکولز چلا رہی ہے۔ ان سکولوں میں 458 بچوں کو مفت تعلیم اورمفت یونیفارم اور کتابیں بھی فراہم کی جارہی ہے۔ ان سکولوں میں تقریبا 230 اساتذہ اور 90انتظامی /ذیلی عملہ کام کر رہا ہے جو کہ مقامی آبادی کے پڑھے لکھے اور ضرورت مند افراد کے لئے روز گار کا مئوثر ذریعہ بھی ہے۔ ان کے علاوہ 93 سے زائد تعلیمی وظائف کے ذریعے ذہین اور ضرورت مند طلبا کو پروان چڑھانا شامل ہے۔ اگر یونیورسٹی آف تربت کی بات کی جائے تو ایف سی سائوتھ نے طلبا کے آمدورفت کے لیے چھ بسیں فراہم کی ہے جس کے سالانہ اخراجات ایک کروڑ روپے سے زیادہ ہے، یونیورسٹی کے 110 طلبا میں لیپ ٹاپ تقسیم کیے گئے، تربت ایشیا کے سب سے گرم ترین شہر وں میں شمار کیا جاتا ہے، اس لیے طلبا اور فیکلٹی کی آرام کو ملحوظ خاطر رکھتے ہوئے ایف سی سائوتھ نے یونیورسٹی کو 68انورٹر اے سی فراہم کئے جس پر تقریبا ایک کروڑ روپے خرچ کئے گئے۔ مکران میڈیکل کالج کے طلبا کے لیے جم کے آلات کی خریداری پر 10 لاکھ روپے خرچ کیے گئے۔
اس کے علاوہ جنوبی بلوچستان کے علاقے آواران، خاران، تفتان، بلیدہ، مند، تمپ، تربت اور پنجگور کے دوردارز علاقوں کے سرکاری سکول بنیادی ضرورتوں سے محروم تھے۔ عوام کی ان محرومیوں کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے ایف سی بلوچستان (سائوتھ) نے پہلے سے موجود18 خستہ حال گورنمنٹ سکولوں کی ازسرنو تعمیر کی، جو چاغی، چاربان، نوک آباد، علی دوست، جانباز، لیجی، کلگ، ابدوئی بارڈر، خاداداب، غلام بازار، بلگتر، بلور، تمپ، بلوچ آباد، گابرد، جلبانی اور کدن میں واقع ہیں۔ 5 گورنمنٹ سکولوں میں لائبریریاں قائم کیں، جو پنجگور، گوارگو، پروم، بل نگور اور کالاگ میں واقع ہیں۔ 13 سکولوں کی سولرازیشن (شمسی توانائی پر منتقلی)کی گئی، مزید 56سکولوں کے لیے کرسیاں، 5000 طلبا کے لیے سکول بیگ، یونیفارم اور اسٹیشنری آئیٹم فراہم کی گئی۔ مختلف علاقوں کے سرکاری سکولوں میں اساتذہ کی کمی کے پیش نظر ایف سی سائوتھ نے طلبا کو بہتر تعلیم فراہم کرنے کے لیے 17 مقامی اساتذہ فراہم کیے جن کی تنخواہوں کے اخراجات ایف سی ساتھ برداشت کررہی ہے۔
ایف سی سائوتھ نے پنجگور میں گلوبلی اورینٹڈ لائنز آف ڈویلپمنٹ سینٹر قائم کیے ہیں۔ یہ مرکز نوجوانوں کو خصوصی تعلیم دینے میں اہم کردار ادا کر رہا ہے، جیسا کہ چینی زبان، اسلامی تعلیم، کمپیوٹر مینجمنٹ وغیرہ۔ یہاں تک کہ ایف سی ساتھ نے خصوصی بچوں کی فلاح و بہبود کو بھی نظر انداز نہیں کیا ہے اور خاران میں خصوصی بچوں کے لیے ایک سکول بھی قائم کیا ہوا ہے۔ جہاں اس وقت 52 خصوصی بچے زیر تربیت ہیں۔ یہ سکول ان خصوصی بچوں کی تربیت کر رہا ہے جو بصارت سے محروم، سماعت سے محروم اور ذہنی اور جسمانی طور پر معذور ہیں۔ یہ سکول دس تدریسی اور انتظامیہ کے اہلکاروں پر مشتمل ہے، جن کی تنخواہوں کے اخراجات ایف سی ساتھ برداشت کررہی ہیں۔ تعلیم کی وجہ سے ہونے والی یہ تبدیلی نہ صرف مثبت ہے بلکہ دیر پا بھی ہے، اس لئے ایف سی بلوچستان (سائوتھ) بلوچستان کے نوجوانوں کو معیاری تعلیم دینے اور ہمارے حقیقی دفاع کو مضبوط بنانے میں د ن رات کوشاں ہے۔
طبی امداد کی فراہمی:
جنوبی بلوچستان کے بیشتر علاقوں تک رسائی بہت مشکل اور دشوار ہے۔ ایف سی بلوچستان سائوتھ جنوبی بلوچستان کے تمام اضلاع کو مستقل بنیادوں پر طبی امداد فراہم کر رہی ہے۔ یہ امداد ان لوگوں کے لیے کسی نعمت سے کم نہیں جو دور دراز علاقوں میں رہتے ہیں یا مالی وسائل کی کمی کی وجہ سے سفری اخراجات کا بوجھ نہیں اٹھا سکتے۔ 2019 سے اب تک ایف سی سائوتھ نے جنوبی بلوچستان کے دور دراز علاقوں میں 125 فری میڈیکل کیمپس کا انعقاد کیا ہے۔ جس میں مجموعی طور پر 52,317 افراد کو طبی امداد اور ادویات فراہم کی گئی ہیں اور بیماریوں کی تشخیص کے لیے 47,382 لیبارٹری ٹیسٹ کئے گئے ہیں۔ایک میڈیکل کیمپ کے انعقاد پر صرف ادویات اور لیبارٹری ٹیسٹنگ پر 60,000 سے 70,000 روپے خرچ ہوتے ہیں۔ اس کے علاوہ چار بنیادی طبی مراکز کی تعمیر نو، مختلف علاقوں میں طبی مراکز کو اینٹی وینم اور اینٹی ریبیز ویکسین کی فراہمی پر اب تک تین کروڑ روپے خرچ کیے جا چکے ہیں۔
صاف پانی کی فراہمی :

صاف پانی کی فراہمی کا زکر کیا جائے تو اس سلسلے میں ایف سی ساوتھ نے 18 واٹر سپلائی سکیمیں تعمیر کی ہیں۔ جس میں جو کلی کرد، علی دوست، لحریب، کلی حاجی, کلی سنجار، پتکوک، کلگ، نالونج، دشتوک, چوربازار، ابدوئی اور ملن کلی شامل ہیں۔ اس کے علاوہ 14مختلف علاقوں میں شمسی توانائی پر چلنے والی اراو -واٹر فلٹر یشن پلانٹ تعمیر کئے گئے ہیں، مجموعی طور پر پانی کی منصوبوں پر 59 ملین روپے خرچ کئے جاچکے ہیں۔
کھیلوں کے فروغ اور نوجوانوں کی دلچسپی:
ایف سی بلوچستان ساوتھ نے کھیلوں کے فروغ کیلئے 14 مقامات پر کھیلوں کے میدان تعمیر کیے گئے،جو علی دوست، نوک آباد، کلگ، نولنج، نوانو، گیلسار، گرداک، گینا، دنک، گوگدان، کپکپار، بلنگود، کدن اور گورک باغ میں واقع ہیں۔ اس کے علاوہ ضلع کیچ کی 50 ٹیموں، ضلع واشک کی 44ٹیموں، ضلع خاران کی 9ٹیموں اور ضلع چاغی کی 16ٹیموں کو کھیلوں کے آلات اور کٹس فراہمی کیے گئے ہیں۔ کھیلوں کی ان کاوشوں پر آب تک تین کروڑ روپے خرچ کیے جاچکے ہیں۔ایف سی سائوتھ نے پرامن طریقے سے 2 مارچ 2022 کو بلوچ کلچر ڈے کا انعقاد کیا، جو خطے کی تاریخ میں اب تک کی سب سے بڑی ثقافتی تقریبات میں سے ایک ہے۔ ایف سی سائوتھ نے اس پروگرام انعقاد پر ایک کروڑ روپے کے اخراجات برداشت کیے۔
قدرتی آفات، پولیو مہم اور مردم شماری:
ایف سی بلوچستان سائوتھ نے مختلف اوقات میں آنے والی قدرتی آفات میں صوبائی حکومت کی ہر ممکن مدد کی ہے، لوگوں کو بچایا بھی اور ریلیف بھی بروقت فراہم کیا ہے۔ بحالی کے کاموں میں اپنے تمام تر وسائل کو بروئے کار لاتے ہوئے لوگوں کی شاندار خدمت کی ہے۔ گزشتہ سال کی طوفانی بارشوں اور سیلاب کی وجہ سے بلوچستان کے طول و عرض میں بڑے پیمانے پر تباہی پھیلی، جنوبی بلوچستان کھجور کی فصل کو ناقابل تلافی نقصان پہنچا۔ذرائع آمد و رفت شدید متاثر ہوا۔بلوچستان میں ان تمام حالات میں ایف سی نے منظم اور فعال انداز میں شاندار اور بروقت خدمات انجام دی ہیں۔ اس کے علاوہ ایف سی بلوچستان ساوتھ نے پولیو مہم اور مردم شماریوں کی ٹیموں کو فرائض کی انجام دہی کے لیے سازگار ماحول مہیا کیا اور تمام تر ممکنہ سہولتیں فراہم کیں۔
بلاشبہ ملک کی بقا و سلامتی ہو یادہشت گردی کے سائے ہوں یا پھر کسی بھی قسم کی قدرتی آفات، ایف سی سائوتھ کے جوانوں نے ہمیشہ لبیک کہتے ہوئے آگے بڑھ کر اور بلوچ بھائیوں کی امیدوں پر پورا اترتے ہوئے اپنا لوہا منوایا۔ اور ایسے منصوبوں کا آغاز کیا جس سے یہاں کے نوجوانوں کواپنے پائوں پر کھڑے ہونیکے ساتھ ساتھ باعزت روزگار کمانے کے مواقع فراہم ہوئے تاکہ یہاں کا ہرنوجوان بھی حلال روزگار کے ساتھ ملکی اور عوامی خدمت میں اپنا بھرپور کر دار ادا کر سکے۔

BEYOND THE UNIFORM: HOW FC IS TRANSFORMING LIVES IN BALOCHISTAN​

FC Balochistan South plays pivotal role in maintaining internal security, law enforcement, and border control

Since its inception, Pakistan has encountered significant challenges and amidst these, the country’s national institutions have joined forces, prioritising collaboration to surmount obstacles and foster progress.
Whether it is a nationwide medical situation such as an epidemic, the pandemic, a security or terrorist threat or natural disaster, such as floods, earthquakes and landslides, in any area where government authorities have fallen short because of limited resources, the Pakistan Armed Forces with unwavering commitment and bravery has exhibited professionalism and efficiency to come forward and address the challenge.
Amidst these achievements, it is equally crucial to shed light on the invaluable contributions of our civil armed forces, especially the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, whose efforts often remain backstage.
The civil armed forces (CAF). comprise a group of nine paramilitary, uniformed organisations, separate and distinct from the regular ‘military’ Pakistan Armed Forces. These include the Pakistan Rangers, FC, and the Frontier Constabulary. The CAF operates in close coordination with the regular armed forces and law enforcement agencies, and play a vital role in maintaining internal security and law enforcement across the country.
The FC Balochistan
Balochistan has a divers sociopolitical, cultural and historical landscape. Moreover, the area is characterised by vastness of terrain, scattered population centres and demanding communication infrastructure, which necessitate the need for deliberate operational planning and well-coordinated execution, so that security forces are able to engage with the social and political dynamics of the conflict, instead of simply responding to them.
Considering the vast area of responsibility and enormity of challenges facing the province (this point may address your 1st query in subsequent para, however, it is further elaborated), six years ago, FC Balochistan was administratively divided into two wings ― FC Balochistan North and FC Balochistan South.
The FC Balochistan South is a group of paramilitary forces of Pakistan, operate in the southwestern part of the province of Balochistan, to oversee the country's borders with Afghanistan and Iran and assist with maintaining law and order. It is one of four Frontier Corps with the others being: FC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (North) and FC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South) stationed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and FC Balochistan (North) stationed in the northern part of Balochistan province.
The primary value of the FC Balochistan lies in their ability to assist civil authorities during times of crisis, natural disasters, and situations that require immediate response. Their presence ensures a swift and organised response to challenges such as terrorism, insurgency, and border security, complementing the efforts of the police and military.

Their work extends beyond traditional security duties, as they actively contribute to maintaining peace in conflict-prone areas, safeguarding national infrastructure, and securing borders. Their operational proficiency and intimate knowledge of the local terrain make them a crucial force in tackling asymmetric threats.
They have been instrumental in fostering inter-provincial and inter-agency collaboration, reinforcing national unity, and maintaining stability in diverse and challenging circumstances. Through their dedicated efforts, they contribute significantly to the overall security and development of Pakistan.
During disasters, they often engage in humanitarian and relief work to provide aid and support to affected communities by saving lives and delivering timely aid. It also provided a conducive environment and the resources needed for the polio campaign and census teams.
In the pursuit of comprehensive development, FC Balochistan also provides essential services that range from healthcare and clean water to education and vocational training.
The FC Balochistan South
Founded in July 2017 (what was the need for this particular new group? Did some political change prompt its set up?
The need for raising FC South was (a) geo-political; (b) vast area of responsibility; (c) effective border management; and (d) securing lines of communication), it didn’t take the organisation long to establish itself by training its manpower to successfully carry out its primary responsibilities of border security and law enforcement.
Peace makers
For the past six years, they have ensured security and welfare in the area Not only is FC South responsible for monitoring Pakistan’s borders with Afghanistan and Iran, but also to maintain law and order in Southern Balochistan. Vigilant in maintaining peace, they actively engage in welfare initiatives that gives assurance to the people of the region that their safety remains top priority.
Border control
In order to delineate Pakistan’s borders with Afghanistan and Iran, to combat cross-border terrorism, and prevent illegal movement and drug smuggling across the border, a decision to fence the borders with Afghanistan was taken in 2017 and the task was assigned to FC South. In a time period of four years.
As much as 92 per cent of the Pakistan-Iran border and 95 per cent of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border have already been fenced.
Security for strategic locations
The FC South provides security to the projects of strategic importance in its areas of its responsibility. This includes the completed segment of M8 Motorway on the CPEC route from Gwadar to Hoshab and the under-construction section from Hoshab to Awaran.
Other than that, they also ensure the security for the copper and gold mine projects in Saindak, Reko Dik, Sahdal and Dodar and exploration projects of the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited and Pakistan Petroleum Company Limited in South Balochistan.

Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan covering 43%/ 44% of country’s total area having 800 Km / 1468 Km border with Afghanistan in North-West and 600 Km/ 909 Km long border with Iran in the West.
The FC South is also responsible for providing security to important dams such as Mirani, Tapak, Gishkor, Garuk, Shadi Kor and Shupak and to under-construction roads including Turbat to Bulda and Mand, Basima to Khuzdar and Yekmach to Kharan.
Business and economic help
Balochistan, mostly reliant on production of mines and minerals besides agriculture and livestock, continues to rank at the bottom of the human development index. As new avenues of trade, the border markets are seen as central points for legal trade between the two business communities that will improve the socio-economic conditions of the border people of South Balochistan and create business opportunities for the local businessmen. The FC Balochistan South provided a favourable environment during the construction of Pakistan-Iran border markets. Not only did it conceive the project, in conjunction with Pakistani agencies and authorities, it encouraged the Iranian Border Security Force to implement the initiative through joint border meetings; and provided a secure environment at Radike in Kech district and Chidgi in Panjgur district.
Education
As in any other underdeveloped area, schools are often overcrowded and under-resourced, leaving children without the necessities needed to learn and develop. Many schools have no furniture and children sit on the bare floor in classrooms. Not everyone can relate to the happiness of a child who gets to sit on a chair in class, after enduring the floor and never even imagining that one day, chairs would arrive in their classroom.
Currently, the literacy rate in Balochistan is 44%, and compared to other provinces it hasn’t improved. However, in various districts of the southern part of the province, presently two colleges, five high, one middle, and two primary schools can be credited to the initiatives and efforts of the FC South.
These institutions not only provide free education, uniform and textbooks, etc to 458 students, but also employment to about 230 teachers and 90 male support staff. Over 93 needy students have been facilitated with scholarships. Around 18 government schools in remote areas such as Awaran, Kharan, Taftan, Balida, Mand, Tump, Turbat and Panjgur that were in dilapidated and neglected state were reconstructed by FC South, while solar panels were installed in 13 schools and libraries set up in five more.

Chairs were provided to students in 56 schools, while school bags, uniforms and stationery were arranged for 5000 students. Since there is a shortage of teachers in various areas, the FC South provided qualified teachers and bears the salaries of 17 teachers.
For transportation of the students of Turbat University, FC South provided six buses at the annual cost of over Rs 10 million from April 2021 till May 2023. Additionally, 110 laptops were also distributed among the students.
In a province where the weather touches extremes, it is hard to imagine what it ust be like to sit in a classroom without a fan.
Since Turbat is one of the hottest places in Asia, so FC South has donated 68 air conditioners costing over Rs 70 lakhs to the university for students. Another Rs 10 lakh were spent on the purchase of gym equipment for the Makran Medical College students.
Specialised education
Apart from services in mainstream education, FC South has also established a Global Oriented Lines of Development Centre in Panjgur, where Chinese language, Islamic education, computer management is taught. A school in Kharan ensures the education and well-being of 52 differently-abled children.
Medical camps
Since access to most parts of South Balochistan is difficult, it is not always physically and financially possible for people to access health facilities promptly. Since 2019, just two years after its foundation, FC South has arranged 125 free medical camps in remote areas where a total of 52,317 people have availed medical assistance or medicines, and 47,382 laboratory tests have been conducted for the diagnosis of various diseases. Excluding logistical costs, a medical camp costs Rs 60,000 to Rs 70,000, just for medicines and laboratory testing. Additionally, Rs 30 million have been spent so far on reconstruction of four basic health units, and provision of anti-venom and anti-rabies vaccines to medical centres in different areas. This assistance is no less than a boon for those who live in remote areas or cannot bear the burden of travel expenses.
Clean water
A total of Rs 59 million has been spent by FC South on water projects, apart from launching 18 water supply schemes, and construction of 14 solar-powered reverse-osmosis water filtration plants in different areas.
Sport and culture
In addition to providing security and maintaining peace, the FC South also participates in community development projects, fostering a sense of trust and cooperation among the local population.
In this regard, 14 sports fields have been constructed throughout southern Balochistan, while sports gear and kits have been provided to 50 teams in Kech, 44 in Washak, 9 in Kharan and 16 in Chagai. These endeavours financially translate into Rs30 million rupees.
The Baloch Culture Day, perhaps one of the biggest cultural events in the history of this region, was organised in March last year, at the cost of Rs 15 million.
Conclusively, FC South has lived up to the expectations of their Baloch brethren, while hundreds of FC South soldiers sacrificed their lives while defending the homeland, and working to build border fences and conducting the law enforcement operations.
It is essential to recognise the sacrifices made by these members of the Civil Armed Forces, who often face dangerous and demanding situations while safeguarding the nation. Their unwavering commitment and professionalism ensure that Pakistan can address its internal security challenges effectively, making them an invaluable asset to the nation's progress and stability.

First ever Frontier Corps hospital inaugurated in Quetta

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch Wednesday inaugurated the first-ever hospital of the Frontier Corps during a ceremony held here.



Inspector General of Frontier Corps Balochistan, Major General Obaidullah Khan Khatak, Home Secretary Balochistan Akbar Hussain Durrani were prominent among others who attended the inaugural ceremony.



CM Balochistan while addressing at a ceremony and later talking to media hoped that health facility built by the FC would not only benefit

the personnel of security forces but also provide best medical facilities

to the civilians in near future.



"Incumbent government has placed provision of quality education and best health facilities as its top most priorities," he recalled adding government of Balochistan would fully cooperate with the Frontier Corps Balochistan whether it required financial support or that of administrative for running the FC hospital.



CM noted that he was committed to maintain peace and the role of police and Frontier Corps against the eradication of the menace of terrorism has remained unprecedented.



IG FC Major General Obaidullah, on the occasion said that FC hospital would initially serve the personnel of security forces in the hospital and added efforts were being made to expand their services to the civilians as well.



"FC hospital is a gift for the people of the province," he said and vowed to continue to assist provincial government in maintaining peace and tranquility in Balochistan.



Earlier, the participants were briefed that FC hospital was complete with worth Rs 903 million.



Hospital consists of six blocks such as Trauma Center, OPD, Casualty, Diagnostic Laboratory and Dental Unit. Equipping health unit with the facilities of CT Scan, MRI and Angioplasty machines was being worked out.

Any reason why a domestic Pakistani company can’t rebuild the Hilux used by the FC in the way this Dubai based company has done. V-Hull Shape, and all round up armoring along with a protected turret. If they can’t do it, they might as well buy an order of 50 of these vehicles and develop a domestic upgrade plan for the entire Hilux fleet. Upgrade will probably cost in the $10’s thousands and a new build probably will cost around a $100K if built domestically.

Heck, while we are at it, the PA or FC should look at buying the British Foxhounds, if the Brits are retiring them and build a local variant with similar protection, but build in a more affordable version. Steel not carbon fiber and supplier but still protected v-hull undercarriage.

A bit more expensive, but battle tested in Afghanistan. It seems just the right size for our mission as well, and if it can carry enough troops with portable ATGMs it might be well suited for the conventional fight, should that say ever come. Considering Pakistani arms transfers to the UK, the Brit’s shouldn’t have a problem sell these to us, the only issue maybe the price.
