French fighter jets carry out 'massive' airstrike operation on ISIS stronghold city of Raqqa in Syria | Daily Mail Online

It is just the begining ladies. :partay:
The airstrikes will be intensified, the CDG will soon join the operations.

10 out of the 12 aircrafts deployed in Jordan and the UAE were involved in the airstrikes.

Politics at its finest. You're telling me that France all of a sudden has targets to hit in Al Raqqa?

Did they get this information over the past 24 hours or have been sitting on it for a while?

.
I think someone needs to look into the Geneva conventions.
They are not applicable in conflicts where one of the parties did not sign.
The Daesh have clearly shown that they do not honour the convention,
which means that laws of war are no longer applicable.

The French can now bomb at random.

As long as ISIL has support from the local population(s) on the ground, their numbers will never run out.

It's good to hit their command and control (and other infrastructure) though so they are less effective. But that's only a temporary solution, it seems things will only get worse in the foreseeable future, regardless of anyone's policy or intervention, or lack of it.

Instability breeds violence, it will take several generations before this extremism will start to reduce.

Employ carpet bombing against targets. They are already conscripting any males of 15 or over.Even if there is some collateral dmg,it won't increase the number of terrorists.Basically all adults in ISIS territory are now conscripted by them -willingly or unwillingly. You have to take them out or make life so miserable that they revolt.

This is the nightmare scenario we are trying to deal with!

good i wish to see policy change as well france policy with extremest groups has been too easy with them in libya for example
best of luck to us all in the war on terror

he US is assisting with intelligence per the WSJ.
True but that's not the reason here! French RoE are quite restrictive esp. vs some US practices.
It seems they were just loosened. I'd expect one more 8-10 ACs run before the CDG can launch
additional ones. The Mindef communique gives 10 out of 12 available jets out that night, good ratio.

I wouldn't be surprised if a big night with most jets out of Chammal and the incorporated CDG striking.
A second big one with your guys could chinch it. A long air conflict hitting all Daesh sites would mean
merging with Russians aircrafts a bit too close and and a tragic error occurring.
It's also important to remember that as of now, ground ops are only possible with the Kurdish Resistance
from the North at least until the most violent elections in history muddle the situation enough to make
them impractical.

Full invasion of Syria would be too costly and nukes are deemed a bit much. :police:

Rare trolling moment that is actually but sarcastic humour :
AH! If true, that would make targeting so much simpler!

Come on Mahmoud! Not you too?
Check Opération Barkhane which I wouldn't be surprised Egypt is secretly part of, my man.

Lights off, Tay.

they were sitting there for last two years telling everyone they are striking ISIS target but in fact they were helping ISIS or anti Asad groups (I dont know how they can distinguish between ISIS and other anti Asad groups), it their monster they created it in Lybia
