The French defense procurement agency (DGA) received five first NERVA-LG extended recognition micro-robots on December 18, 2019.

These robots are capable of evolving independently to listen, see and record on the battlefield. Weighing 5 kg, they are compact, discreet and can work in a network. They will be implemented by a single disembarked fighter, quickly and easily.

Their excellent mobility and obstacle clearance capacity, as well as their ability to map the environment in which they operate, will make it possible to safely explore potentially dangerous environments for combatants.

They have already been delivered to the Technical Section of the Army (STAT) for further assessments in order to refine the concept of employment before being put into force.

These robots are part of a first global order for 56 micro-robots placed by the DGA with NEXTER associated with the company ECA. Other robots delivered in 2020: include 5 additional NERVA-LG, 10 NERVA-S for recognition of small dimensions (3 kg), and 36 NERVA -XX / CAMELEON -LG of engineering (12 kg).

The two largest robots in the range have the ability to return autonomously to a predetermined point or to carry out surveillance rounds on predefined trajectories.

It is particularly well-suited for reconnaissance and opening up of potentially dangerous areas (IED or CBRN threats) easy to deploy, launchable and with a high-speed capability. It can be reconfigured within a few seconds on the field, with no special tools (Wheels/Tracks, Payload, Batteries). It can be deployed and used by mounted or dismounted personnel, using a control station.
