9 Embassies in Dhaka support British High Commissioner

Strong and dynamic civil society is fundamental to freedom of speech and effective democracy, said Robert Chatterton Dixon, British High Commissioner in Dhaka on Tuesday: In that case, they should be able to work independently. He wrote this from his official account on social media Twitter.

Ambassadors of various countries stationed in Dhaka and embassies of several countries have supported the statement of the British High Commissioner. Embassies and ambassadors of at least nine countries have spoken out. The post was retweeted by the US Embassy in Dhaka, the Australian High Commission, Japanese Ambassador Ito Naoki, Swiss Ambassador Nathali Chuard and Norwegian Ambassador Aspen Richter Wendsen.

Lily Nichols, Canada's High Commissioner to Dhaka, shared the post: The voice of an independent and diverse civil society has always been part of Canada's core principles of democracy, innovation and progress. These are among the values we share with Bangladesh.

Alex Bergberg von Linde, Sweden's ambassador to Bangladesh, wrote in support of the British High Commissioner: The central pillar of any democratic society is a vibrant and strong civil society.

The Ambassador of the Netherlands in Dhaka, Ann van Leeuwen, wrote: The central and central role of civic organizations for transparency and proper ‘check and balance’ in any country.
That's exactly what the Danish ambassador, Winnie the Pooh, wrote. A vibrant and strong civil society is the key to hearing the voices of the weak.

Hypocrisy lies in these 10 demons including UK who not hesitate to ban RT and voice against supporting Ukraine. They just used the pretext of independent voice to destabilize whatever their foe and serve their agenda.

Maybe so they can spread their lgbtq+ trash in Bangladesh…..

Hasina needs to put them in their place……

. . .
I hope he keeps his mouth shut on this occasion.
By reading all those happening centered on many Western Ambassadors, I am hopeful of a fair election this time. American sanctions are over the head of RAB and the Police. So, people are now free to hold meetings. The more ner the election, the people will more freely gather.

However, no political party would contest under a party govt. So, what is going to happen? In a certain political quagmire, there is a possibility of a military takeover at a certain time before the election date that will last after a new cabinet is formed.

I personally have no objections if Hasina's BAL party is returned, but it must be the wish of the people.

Joy Bangladesh!!!!

Catalystic, these Western governments are not so much talking about promoting LGBTQXXX etc but dearly wanting the mullahs to come to power through the BNP. All those sanctions against the Rapid Action Battalion officers were in this direction. NATO doesn't like any Muslim-majority society to be progressive and NATO is rankled by the Socialist-style official name of Bangaldesh - People's Republic of Bangladesh.

I don't know what the British High Commissioner said which invoked the "democracy-loving" chants of other Western government officials but these are the steps towards bringing a Spring Revolution in BD like in Libya, Syria and Venezuela. A regime change is what the Western governments want in Bangladesh and then for the mullahs to be in power.

In the coming months and few years it is certain that many progressive Indian Muslims and non-Muslims will want to migrate to BD so please people of BD keep your country out of the filthy hands of mullahs and their NATO controllers.

But, who gave you this small intelligence that BNP is a Mullah party? It is not, BNP is a fully progressive party that joined hands with Jamaat to win a general election. That is all.

You are completely overwhelmed with this BAL propaganda that BNP is a Mullah party.

But, anyway, does it matter which idiotic party comes to power? All are just bunches of thieves. However, Jamaat has proved that it is no thief. It stole not a single Taka.

However, I am not sure the theology-based Jamaat can run the economy of a modern country. Jamaat's popularity is about 3% of the population. BNP has now more than 40%. BAL, I do not know. @UK Bengali would say its popularity is more than 80%. But, note that BAL is afraid of conducting a fair election.

Who cares if NATO wants the development of a Muslim-majority country. But, can you really say that such a country's population is eager to progress. I do not find one such country except Turkey. Others including BD are all theology-based countries whose populations keep on researching how to enter the Islamic Paradise instead of building industries and their respective societies.

I think many of our people will accept the Indian educated Muslims to migrate to BD. But, you guys should learn a little Bengali, both written and spoken, before doing so. You were saying you are a computer programmer. You will get jobs here. But, residents of Kolkata will have better opportunities because of the language.

@Bilal9 can give you better information.

A progressive group that joins hands with Jamaatis to win an election... You say that is all ? LOL.

Why couldn't BNP join up with the Communists because that would have turned Bangladesh even more back to its progressive roots, to the foundation of the name of the country - People's Republic of Bangladesh ? Do you see the Democratic People's Republic of Korea or the erstwhile Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya taking the help of South Korean Capitalists and Al Qaeda + "Muslim" Brotherhood, respectively ? In fact why could BNP team up with BAL and dissolve the party system outright and bring direct democracy to the country in fashion of Libyan Jamahiriya ?

So instead of the BNP when in power banning the Bishwa Ijtema arranged by the Tableeghi global rotten it took help of the Jamaatis to come to power ? Those same Jamaatis who massacred many Bangladeshis ? LOL.

You are completely overwhelmed with this BAL propaganda that BNP is a Mullah party.

No, I haven't read a single article by BAL against BNP. :)

But, anyway, does it matter which idiotic party comes to power? All are just bunches of thieves.

I agree so bring in true democracy like how it was in the Libyan Jamahiriya until the 2011 NATO+GCC+AQ+"M"B invasion and how the same political system is being implemented in Venezuela.

However, Jamaat has proved that it is no thief. It stole not a single Taka.

Because that is not the Jamaat's intention. It intends to establish a Taliban state in BD. Jamaat is not a case of socio-economic corrupt but an utter corruptio of ethics and morality.

BNP has now more than 40%. BAL, I do not know. @UK Bengali would say its popularity is more than 80%. But, note that BAL is afraid of conducting a fair election.

When Western governments talk about some place which "should have democratic elections" it means it wants a proxy there. Think of Gaza. Until 2007 it was being governed by the progressive movement PLO which comprised of Socialist and Communist groups. NATO didn't like that at all so it and Israel arranged for "democratic elections". Now Gaza being the epicenter in the Palestine region for presence of the Israel-supported Palestinian "M"B branch called Hamas, had many of its citizens who couldn't think properly hence they support Hamas and it won in this so-called democratic but actually demagogic election and then PLO mostly retreated to West Bank. So what has been the result of Hamas rule in Gaza for the last 15 years ? A society of burqas, socio-economic suicides, honor killings and general misery. Not quite an "Islamic" paradise. :) This will be the fate of BD if BNP + Hefazat-e-"Islam" come to power.

@Bilal9 can give you better information.

1. Well, it's too late for me to learn a new language by going to classes. Best would be for us to live in BD and learn the language on the go. :)

2. @Bilal9 bhai knows that in BD I will want to start a company in the field of computing and this company would be the best computing company in South Asia. I have co-found a computing company some years ago so this would be my second. I can say only this much. :)

You are talking without having any knowledge of BD political parties. Even your favorite Hasina Bibi went to the house of Jamaat Chief leader Golam Azam, touched his feet and asked for his blessing in the election.

You do not have to accept what I said above, but please do not respond to this post because I usually do not like Pundit or fuzzy-headed intellectuals who decide everything without enough information at hand.

IMHO, western hegemony has come to an end already with this Ukraine crisis! So I will let them bark.

I don't think they can change our regime! BAL govt is traditionally pro Russia ( pro china as well now) , while BNP is ardently pro west!

Jamati and many other munafiq Mullahs are also pro west! Although govt sided Mullahs ( mostly deobandi) are now supporting Russia.

However doesn't matter if we like it or not , but Mullahs / RSS are a part of sub continent culture!

The bitter truth is , without political Islam Bangladesh can't survive in this region as a sovereign country, because India choose the path of Hindutva!

It's called fight fire with fire
. BAL folks reject it , but in reality BAL now has a fatwabaz Mullah gong as well from Deobandi group!

It's bad , but it's realty that we can't deny! As long as India will be ruled by Hindutva, Mullahs will remain the necessary evil for Bangladesh!

That sir is the crux of the issue about all this Western ambassadors talk of "freedom of speech and democracy". Good that Bangladesh won't have a Spring Revolution regime change like is wanted by NATO.

Western countries were right to ban RT. It is nothing but a Kremlin propaganda tv where news is manufactured to make day out of night and vice versa. It is not an independent media, can not criticize Putin or any Russian state policy. Western countries did not ban any independent media of Russia outside of Govt. control.

Why do you have to find NATO images in every nook and corner? The point is BD lacks democracy and it is good that other countries except India are pressing BD to arrange a fair election in less than two years. When other countries say it, you find NATO there.
