Am pretty sure some of these vids where posted before but i could not find them,so i posted them again.
 
The problem is on such small scale there wont be enough gas to run a power generator for any usable duration. However addition of few chemicals and enzymes could greatly enhance the output. Bio gas derived from waste is stored and used for domestic heating and even public transport in Europe. So there is no reason why we cant accomplish the same.

And the "dehatan" featured in the ad looks more like a model... :P :P
 
I won't recommend to use this gas to make electricity.
It can be good solution to run water pumps as shown in one video.

In Karachi and Baluchistan wind energy is best solution, while in Punjab solar is best way forward and NWFP shall build hydal projects.

The water pump indeed is running on electricity produced from this gas!

Each phase change of energy incurs losses so chemical to mechanical to electrical again to mechanical for running water pump is far more inefficient than running the water pump directly off the engine.
