keeping in mind the ongoing LOC violations & pressure tactics from India along with their War hysteria vis-à-vis the End Game in Afghanistan, & the utter confusion prevailing in & out side Pakistan , only one thing comes to mind ,& that is with all their corruptions & mismanagements, if there is one thing that the previous ppp govt could be credited for, then it has to be its foreign policy. At least during the last two years of its rule, the way former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar & her team steered the country through such a difficult phrase & got the importance of Pakistan recognised in the Afghan end game, convinced the U.S & the taliban to come to the negotiating table, & at the same time kept a balanced approach especially in the Indo-Pak ties & the handling of the LOC flare up in early January 2013, needs to be appreciated & recognised, but sadly following the election which saw the PML(n) coming to power this momentum in the field of foreign policy seems to be weakening ,especially @ a time when having a competent foreign ministry is the most important element for Pakistan in the world stage & the "End Game" at large, let alone a strong competent foreign ministry, we don't even have a "foreign minister" ! and as a result the whole nation in confused, or what we say as "Policy ka Buhran aur afraa tafri" after all confusion is what happens, when you don't have a full time foreign minister, we need to bring back
Hina Rabbani Khar & her team & appoint her as the foreign minister. You simple cannot rely on an 86years old sartaj Aziz who's expertise by the way is more in the field of finance then in foreign policy (not to mention the inner rivalry between him & tarek fathmi inside the foreign office) , while on the other hand former foreign mister Hina Rabbani Khar's term saw some relative degree of success for Pakistan especially in the u.s-pak ties , even though she's from the ppp, she can join in as a technocrat if pml(n) approves, the foreign office needs her @ least for now

Why ? We have haar fun mola NAWAZ SHARIF and SHAHBAZ SHARIF

Two months into govt and we unfortunately dont see any direction this PMLN govt is taking the country to. The most important tims in this War on Terror and we have no ambassador to US and no foreign minister.

They have no idea what they want to do. This thing was evident in NS speech also. He implied that he does not know what to do. Only thing which has come out documented in this government is the budget. That too is so scantily made and has so many ifs and buts. I wonder how they are going to achieve their budget numbers.

Foreign Relations are going for six. International representatives do not have the right contact. Out of 60 days the PM cum DM spent half of his tenure so far abroad. China trip is boasted about but in fact only MOUs have been signed, which may never materialise. And this buffoon was declaring it a sort of agreement in his speech.

We need a foreign minister who can be bold enough to speak and not murmur while speaking to international community.

I think you're way off track! These LoC 'violations have nothing to do with the so called 'Afghanistan endgame'. This is a conspiracy theory to deflect the truth as to why these violations are happening.

The reality is that the PA is desperately trying to infiltrate terrorists like the LeT (An organization which has been raised specifically for spreading terror in Kashmir) into the Valley under covering fire, before the winter, a tactic that they've adopted since the past three decades.

For those unaware of the modus operandi for infiltration, covering fire is a pre-requisite for two reasons: To put the 'heads down' of the enemy to prevent interference during infiltration, or secondly, to divert attention of the enemy so that the infiltrators can go through surreptitiously without being noticed.

However, this time the IA has responded in kind and provided prophylactic fire to prevent these terrorists from infiltrating into the Indian side.

So connecting this to the Afghan 'end game' is nothing but pure conjecture and has nothing to do with it! The firing is a purely tactical battlefield response.

sorry i am not free or jobless and i know my current salary is high then FM salary in pak:)

With a long smile yes provided she is given some good lessons and training courses.

She is an educated foreign qualified lady in her field of studies

Training courses?

My friend, mastering foreign relations takes decades of experience along with contributing to think tanks.

The ideal person must be in their 50s.

Hillary Clinton and John Kerry are experienced politicans, thats why they are in those positions.

We need to do the same. Not hand the position over to a kid who will add nothing of value.
