New Delhi: The charges against the Army about human rights violations in Kashmir and violent night raids in civilian areas are not true, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat told ThePrint, challenging that those levelling such allegations come forward with the “victims”.

Rawat said that some of the gruesome pictures that have come out in foreign media reports and on social media seem to be “photoshopped”.

“This is completely untrue. When I came to know of the allegations, I instantly checked with our units and commanders in Kashmir. I can clearly say that no civilian was tortured by the Army and neither were any night raids carried out in which civilians were harassed,” Rawat told ThePrint in an exclusive interview at the Army Headquarters in South Block.

When asked what would happen if the “victims” come forward, Rawat said he would order a probe.

“If any victim comes forward, I will personally order a full-fledged probe. But I can say for sure that no such action, as has been alleged by some, has taken place,” he said.

Talking about a picture that went viral on social media, showing injuries on the back of a person, the Army chief said it is clearly “photoshopped”.

“The lines are very straight and the same throughout the back. It clearly shows that some marks must have been there, which were then copied and pasted all over the back,” he added.

The picture was first put out by an international media organisation along with a report, but is no longer part of the story.

The allegations
The BBC, along with several international media organisations such as The New York Times and The Washington Post, has reported on the alleged torture of Kashmiris by security forces, especially the Army, following the abrogation of Article 370 in J&K last month.

Kashmiri activist Shehla Rashid had even tweeted that the Army conducted night raids in civilian areas in the Valley and harassed people. She further alleged that the Army tortured civilians in south Kashmir and used loudspeakers to make the rest of the villagers hear the screams of the one who was being tortured.

“One thing that everyone is good at these days is taking videos and pictures. Even encounters are at times shot on video by civilians. So don’t you think if the Army had indeed done what has been alleged, someone would not have captured it on the phone,” he asked.

Rawat said that the Army was involved in counter-terror operations and not in law and order issues. The Army operates with a certain ethos and it values human rights, he added.

Excellent statement bipin. Here's a shovel. Keep lying and digging your hole bigger and bigger. When the evidence is presented, you'll look like more of a tool than the shovel.

This is exactly what just happened to Dhanoa regarding balakot in the last 48 hours. Now your turn.

India-An incorrigible nation?

The December 16 sexual assault on Nirbhaya in a moving bus in the capital city had shocked the entire nation and the country rose up in an unprecedented show of unity by organising protests, holding agitations, many a times violent, candle light vigils, animated and angry panel discussions on news channels. It seemed that once again we were united for a cause like the scenes we had witnessed during the Indo-China war of 1962, wars with Pakistan in 1965 and '71. The one voice of the entire nation demanding justice against the offenders of the shameful crime looked never ending. It raised hopes of the billion plus Indians that such heinous acts would never recur.

Barely seven months have passed since that dastardly act and we are back to square one. Not a single day passes when we don't see a news item on sexual assaults against women. Fast track court proceedings, thrashing of the rapists in Tihar prison, social boycotts, etc seem not to have had any deterring effects on the perpetrators. Assaults are going unabated. There has been a visible spurt in the cases of acid attacks on women.

A rape occurred in the heart of Mulayam Singh's constituency in Etawah. Mulayam Singh is the de facto ruler of UP. Members of the disciplined forces, specifically the BSF and the CRPF, have come to notice for passing lewd remarks against women commuters in the train. Some uniformed para-military men tried taking pictures of a fellow woman traveller. Few Commissioned officers of the armed forces are being probed for misconduct and alleged sexual acts against their colleagues' wives. A senior minister of a state is in jail for attempting to sodomise his domestic help. These cases are most recent. There are many, many more. The list is endless.

Such perverse acts display scant respect for law. The offenders must be seeing TV shows and reading newspapers on such ghastly incidents yet they don't care. The law enforcing agencies and all concerned continue to follow a 'chalta hai' attitude. And that's why Nirbhaya is forgotten so soon and so conveniently. Even if the offenders of the December 16 assault and murder are awarded death sentences, I doubt the number of sexual assault cases will plummet. Sociologists, custodians of law, judicial system, media and the countless members of the humongous think tanks seem clueless. So there is no let up and there are no signs of any hope either.

The World will one day find millions of mass graves created by the Army.

India must be made to stand trial in the International Court of Justice.

Totally irrelevant sirji.

Jinnah has said once 'Indians are Incorrigible'...they will remain like they are till the end of times...
The disease of the mushrikeen... this goes beyond Jinnah.

Totally irrelevant sirji.

It is relevant, a person, a group of persons, an ethnic group characteristics and traits remains same(Fitrat nahi badalti hai) and will not change when it comes to lies and deceit, falsehood and fake things, fudged and skewed narrative, it is taught to them the Indian Hindus...check the Chanakya state crafts and quotes and older vedic clauses...

Yes Muslims don't follow Chanakya statecraft of lies and deceit, falsehood and fake narrative, hogwash and fake perceptions...for the world and it's own people.

Sikhs are better, believes in one God(Waheguru)...even normal Hindus(are there any??) the suppressed and marginalized, caught in the Apartheid Indian Caste system(not invented by the common Hindus) are better, it is the ruling class, the higher caste Brahmins and the second tier who are the oppressors and tyrants(who invented this crass Caste system).

And poor Dalits/Adivasis and Shudras are caught in the rigmarole of a horrendous caste system and living a life of slaves and as bonded labor...and strangely they are led to believe that by serving the higher caste Brahmins in this life they will born to be Brahmins and in higher caste in the next Life/Janam...this is a big 'Ponzi' scheme, this caste system.

.
So he thinks that those who are tortured, raped, and murdered, are going to go to their torturers, rapists, and murderers to file a complaint. He is a complete and utter f*cking moron.

If there is nothing happening, why is foreign media and human rights groups banned from entering the region? why is their a curfew in place? why is there travel restrictions on Kashmiris? why is there a complete communications and media blackout?

Maybe General Incompetent should answer these questions before crying fake news to the truth
