Flight tests of next generation turbofan engine PD-14 have begun

Recently in October flight tests of next generation turbofan engine PD-14 have begun in Moscow region. Engine for tests was mounted on Il-76ll flying laboratory. PD-14 turbofan family has modular design with takeoff thrust range from 11000 to 18000 Kgf. The PD-14 turbofan family is being developed for wide range of new and current aircrafts including SSJ-100NG, MS-21, Tu-204/214, Il-76, 214, Il-96, etc. Its fuel efficiency, reliability and lifecycle are similar to PW-1000G and CFM LEAP families.
