How is Ghani's outreach to Pakistan being viewed out there by the commons (and in the MSM)? Naiveté or Masterstroke?

Everything is now hanging over ANA's success and West's support for future,in case Afghanistan faces same kind of turmoil like Iraq.Good thing is USA did provided support to Iraq during turmoil. So,we can hope they're not going to abandon Afghanistan either..

To sustain against Taliban and future war,Afghanistan have to address these issues...

1.They'll have to acquire heavier weapons,be it from Russia,West or from where ever possible. Its good to see that ANA is performing quite good..

2.They've to make a capable Airforce.ANAF's attack capability is lacking seriously.

3.Political will is going to be a big challenge. If present political society remains strong and united, its hard for Taliban to regain ground. If leadership falters, its going to be a big issue.

4.One of the most ignored but most important factor in the future will be relationship with Iran(and not Pakistan as some thinks).Iran is emerging strong, and Afghanistan can afford a hostile Pakistan and prolonged proxy war if their relationship with Iran stays strong. Also,West's relationship with Iran must normalize.

5.Afghanistan is going to be a "Muscle Flexing grounds" in post Coalition years. But Afghanistan must play its game carefully..because they're going to deal with powers like US,Nato,Russia,China,India,Pakistan as well as Iran..

6.Afghanistan-Pakistan relationship is yet to normalize, but there is hope that even with their differences, they may coexists.but their is a chance than Pakistan-Afghanistan border is going to become a hot field for "Proxy wars"..

The day is not far when Afghanistan become a major economy in south Aisa for it has blessed with Huge natural Resources,Manpower and its strategic location in Central Asia.

what the country needs is investment in Mining sector, Infrastructure , connectivity and above all Security .... Afghans participation in Chabahar is vital for its development.

I am very happy that some Afghan Cadets as well as Special forces trained in India in our Jungle warfare School, while there are Afghan students in our Universities.

Afghans are not Indian slaves. Indians should take a shower and reflect.

The same things were said for Iraq in 2011. The problem in not the Taliban. The problem is how the government will control all these warlords and militia(some of them allied with the government). No point of cheering that the Taliban wont return if Afghanistan returns to the situation before 1996

Agree on that point but I believe Afghanistan will become a ground for another proxy-war between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Iran trying to further increase its strength in the region by trying to befriend the government and Saudi Arabia trying to bring back the Taliban and form anti-Iran government.
