But they are not enough for a go at the general seat. Its a good strategy to keep minorities involved in legislature. They have good population in Punjab and Sindh. They need to assert their powers through vote.
it can be enhanced w.r.t their population proportion (say twice than their actual representation (at 6-7%)) but 25-35% is illogicalIts BS news......they day they reserveect then we have something.25-35% of seats for hindus-sikhs-christians
Having a token "hindu" in govt is pointless.......give the minority's proper power.
As far as I know Peshawar is the better in religious harmony
You were saying?
25-35% to heretics when they aren't even 5% of the population? Next, we'll be asked to give 30% of seats to Ahmedis and Shias
Are Hindus allowed to vote for whom they want now in Pakistan? before they were only allowed to vote for a Hindu candidate
I never heard that before. Everyone in Pakistan, regardless of their religion, can vote for whomever they want. I know a lot of non-Muslims who voted for Imran Khan or whoever they liked.
It was from a article I read from a Pakistani guy
Protecting Pakistan's Hindus | Comment is free | guardian.co.uk
The first one was promulgated under the 1973 constitution which made Islam the state religion of Pakistan and established a separate electorate for Muslims and non-Muslims so that Hindus could only vote for Hindu candidates. Musharraf abolished this in 2002.
Mushy got rid of it though
This was also the league demand before partition.
Something that the congress rejected as regressive.
No wonder they may have implemented it in Pakistan.
Zia was a proper hardcore wahabi there is some still on this forum that love him to bits

Were they not demanding Zaziya in the tribal regions from the Sikhs?
Better is only relative here.
