Thanks for the forgiveness even when I didn’t ask for it- I was just trying to remember what it was that I forgot to do.

Until recently, the govts would actually give an export subsidy because to sell the domestically produced sugar on international markets required subsidies as the cost on international market was lower that what was domestically produced.

This is a glaring outlier as far as Pakistans agri production goes. Most things are produced a lot cheaper than international markets and then are for example smuggled into Afghanistan- sugar is the outlier because of the deep political interests.

I forgave your not knowing who owns all the sugar mills in Pakistan and what is the purpose behind price increase....hint its not supply and demand, it has nothing to do with public welfare.
