If government wants reintroduction of student unions, it must be done so with proper legislation and very strict rules. No type of badmashi should be tolerated. We simply can't have student unions of past infesting our education institutions.

If anyone here thinks unbanning student unions will help bringing liberal mindsets they are idiots of highest order..What will prevail is student unions based on ethnic strife ,you will have all flavors of them who would kill each other on university premises on petty things. Secondly if someone thinks jamiat effect will be curtailed this way , it wont happen infact jamiat will grow bigger and next you will see deobandi, barelvi student federations popping up..Marxists will never grow, they will stay the same number in next 30 years even with all the resources they get.Pakistan's domestic composition is based on a religious thought process,they don't have any place here.We saw the full affect of rampant student unions till the 90s which is considered a lost decade for some reason.
