I highly doubt Pakistan recognising Israel would do us all the good people seem to think it would.
What can our recognition give to Israel other than some political points, and once we give that, it would be the extent of most of what we can realistically offer.
Why would they prefer Pakistan over India? Is our recognition, and especially after that, worth the relationship the Indians have built up with the Israelis?
I say this because the Indians have always been 'possessive' about their friends. Whenever Pakistan tries to buy something from someone, the Indians start their public objections and diplomatic efforts to try and have it cancelled.
So thinking that the Ummah, which has repeatedly bailed us out on many occasions, from gaining all the countless bounties from recognising Israel is not beneficial.
The Turks, for almost a century went to extreme lengths to distance themselves from Islam, they look European and dress like Europeans as well, but they weren't accepted in the EU.
The recent events between Turkey and the US, which was on the front line against the Soviets and is part of NATO, are a good example as well. How they all refused to back the Turks during the jet shooting crisis between Turks and Russians. How many think the same would have been the reaction if it was the UK or the French who'd done it?
And remember - we are not European looking Turks.
The Europeans saw that they cannot do much individually, but together they can be a major independent player on the world stage. That is why they have been trying to slowly empower the European Union.
The Ummah is nearly two billion strong group controlling vast territories, with immense natural resources and a huge young population. The potential is great.
It is also the only viable option for us in which we can get a respectable position (if we start getting out house in order).
The lot that thinks that Ummah is holding us back from true greatness is deluding itself. They are the similar to the Brexit lot.
There is strength in numbers, and we can only be counted amongst those who are willing to truly count us amongst themselves.

As for recognising Israel, we can do it when the rest of the M.E does it. We are in no hurry.
There is no point in bypassing all the allies who we've supported, and who have supported us, on numerous occasions for decades now.
