FACT CHECK: Has China Really Claimed The Russian Port City Of Vladivostok?

Yes. But China's border issue with Russia is water under the bridge.
Indian News Media has a US based motive and is out to create trouble bbetween China and Russia. But they failed to understand the relationship between Putin Russia and Xi China. :coffee:

the greatest trick of the imperialist is to mire you in some old mumbo jumbo conflicts over some strange mystical stuff that happened in the past while they take full control. it is like a thief stealing your life savings while their accomplice talks about how evil your sister is for not inviting you to her wedding or something.

In Rwanda and Congo the Belgian imperialists told the Tutsi they were whiter than the Hutu and deserved to rule, which later led to a Hutu backlash in 1994, and the rest is tragic history. This is funny because Tutsi and Hutu have no genetic markers distinguishing them, they were invented ethnicities that were used by the colonial imperialists to maintain rule.

In Nigeria the British agitated differences between Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani which culminated in a civil war. Nigeria was a capitalist democracy at the time, and Nigerian troops happily carried out a genocide against the people of Biafra.

Indeed, we could've settled all border conflicts with India and Vietnam, even in their favor, if they did not want to keep taking more, more, more.

India and Vietnam are solely responsible for whatever happens to them.

ROC claimed alot of land on paper, but in reality they could not even keep Nanjing. They have no right to talk when they've already lost everything. 日记爱国,地图开疆。

btw did you actually do a satellite overlay to see if that land was actually prime or agricultural? because on a satellite overlay 90% of that land is desert, mountain or tundra.
Gobi is 1m square km², but a lot of it is not completely soil-less, and can be re-cultivated. Outer Manchuria is 1.2 million km² of temperate forests, and steppes, not tundra at all.

.
Even if China takes back Outer Mongolia, I expect there will be a lot of trouble from the locals.
Surely it will

Petty rightist currently in power can't subdue opposition over some rocks in the middle of nowhere, how can they do anything more if they can't do even that?

"National rejuvenation" he says, how a nation be rejuvenated by addition of some rocks, when 1/4 of the nation is still chopped off?

meanwhile billions in wealth pass by some small islands in the South China Sea. Less important than China going back to a farming country?

I wonder if Europeans still think about the land they "lost". What if France kept claiming the borders of Napoleon? Germans kept claiming the borders of the Third Reich? British kept claiming the borders of the British Empire?

Yes, it does, and I don't see how Zhongnanhai, can change anything about that in the current setup.

My point is that pinks, petty rightist, and dazibao wavers don't seem to realise they have no point.

One thing they say is "we assume position of a great nation mopping the floor with everybody, and everything is great"

Then they say "we are a victim nation, being mopped around, a quarter of our land is stolen, and we are happy with it, we can't improve our situation, but you still follow us," as if decades of their lamentations about their territorial ambitions, for which they have no potential to realise, can bring us anything.

A contradiction.

So, do they actually improve the standing of the nation, and our current situation as it is?

There is no contradiction.

"We are a victim nation" - this is a statement of the past.
"We are a great nation" - this is a statement of the present/future.

Zhongnanhai did much more than the 总统府 of ROC - at least they did not keep whining about some obscure maps from Qing Dynasty.

  1. They (petty rightists, pinks, dazibao guys) spend a decade weeping "this rock is mineeeee!!!." The result is absolutely nothing. They can spend a century doing so, and nothing would come of it. And even if would suddenly get balls to seize that damn rock, nothing really good will come out of it for the country either.

But they want all the credit for that "grand statesmanship," and a mandate to hold the apex of state power

  2. If they actually had balls, and went to get those lost 3 million km² of valuable lands, then they would actually be these grand statesmen, and they would certainly deserve the power.

This would really be a game changer for the country, and be of real value, but those pissants can never really do this, and they don't even want to. They only want to make a lot of noise about it to get their political credits.

That's the morale of the story. People should stop giving any merit to people exploiting territorial shenanigans, because their empty talks will never yield any fruit. It's best to shut up, and do something more useful to improve things in the county, like improving economy. That will deserve a genuine credit.

the so called rocks in the South China Sea have already been 'seized', and the end result has been nothing but beneficial. expect more to follow.

there's no such thing as absolute good or bad. The alternative is to be like ROC fascists whining about how PRC 'gave up' 3 million km2 while they themselves could not even keep Nanjing.

But you cannot fight a bunch of wars at once. Just because Russia has occupied more Chinese lands doesn't mean the Chinese should not care about other disputed territory (i.e. Sino-Indian Border). Your argument is tantamount to saying because Russia occupies 3 million sq kilometers of Chinese land, China should just drop all other land disputes over occupied territory since they are insignificant. I really don't understand your point here at all.

Territory is territory ... it does not matter how rich they are. Why do you think Russia is unwilling to give up a couple of rocky islands to Japan even though it would completely normalize relations between the two powers?

I like to throw this at pinks every time they raise the topic.

To those proposing starting a war over rocks in the sea, and rocky deserts in Himalays:

The elephant is in the room:

3 million square kilometres of prime agricultural land vs. rocks

China used to be part of Mongol empire which stretched from Europe to Korea.

It is not water under the bridge ... it is as Paul2 says the giant elephant in the room. When China and Russia no longer need each other, I can guarantee you they will turn against each other, just like in the 1960s.

All countries claim the entire Earth as their territory. That's what states do. States behave like greedy people. The citizens of a state are the slaves of that state, working 24 / 7 for the expansion of that state. Wars are between states, not between humans.

@Austin Powers

How about America snatching up Alaska from Russia?

America didnt snatch Alaska, they purchased it from Russia.

Regards

Russia wouldn't have sold Alaska if the US didn't threaten to invade. After Crimean war, Russia was in no shape to defend Alaska from the US that's why they sold it cheap. Just like after Opium war China was in no shape to defend Outer Manchuria from Russia that's why they sold it cheap.

Kurils is not a couple of rocky islands. It's inhabited by tens of thousands of Russian citizens. For the same reason, Britain would never give Falklands to Argentina.

.
Russian could give back to Manchurian people and create Manchurian Guo.

Manchurian volunteerly want to stay with PRC. They do not want to end up like poor Mongolians. :enjoy:

.
Pointless, even with outer Manchuria annex the Manchus still refused to do any Major reforms until it’s too late. Since they ruled Qing this is their punishment for making China weak. Better to leave it for good to remind any morons in charge to not be so conservatives to the point of being backward.
