Hi,

On June 20, 1988 the F-7P was inducted in PAF. By 1990, 80 F-7s, 20 from Handshake I (serials 88-501 till 88-520) and 60 from Handshake-II (serials 89-521 till 90-580) were inducted. From 1991-92 15 FT-7P were acquired under Handshake III (serials 89-601 till 90-615)

But what about FT-7P 92-616 and 92-617?

Or are FT-7 89-601 till 89-604 part of the Handshake I deal?
The Hand Sake III FT-7P serials should than be 90-605 till 92-619.

Who can confirm the correct serial batch of the Handshake III FT-7P aircraft?

Talking of FT-7s what happened with this camo, I personally prefer it but don't know why PAF ditched it?

Most people dont even know that this scheme existed..I showed this to a PG operator and he said its fake..:p:

Add to that, the very first few F-7P Thunderbolts also sported a lightening bolt as well behind the nose =P

Looks like the new sharp shooter temp sqn is housing all old f-7p from 2, 14, sqn with airframes still some hours left till there are no hours left in lead in fighter role with less than 3000 hour life on airframe it looks like 4-5 years worth of hours can be squeezed after perhaps extension by pac for few more hours

Some Ac may also be allocated to last f-7p sqn no 18 and or ccs f-7 sqn

@Hodor I thought I remembered it right after all these years but in fact I was wrong, it used to say Skybolt. This was later covered up in a bad paint job and you can see the patch of grey paint on the spot in the older F-7P pictures.

For me its a BIG mystery what has happend to the four original FT-7 aircraft delivered in 1989. These four aircraft were serialed 89-601/89-604. But only 89-602 and 89-603 are photoproof. I think they only served a few years (till 1991????) in the PAF and then returned to China or resold to another country. Who can help to solve this PAF FT-7 mystery!!
