but according to this link this frigate have no ASW(anti-sub warfare) capability.
and also limited air-defence(only 8 SAM)

I think frigate should have ASW capability ,less dependency on corve..,.

But a very good begining for pakistan.

PN is still evaluating all CY series ASW missiles and the final decision has yet to be made. They are comaptible with the same launchers of C-803 missiles.
Moreover F-22P carries Harbin Z-9EC for ASW role.

Rubbish!
In weapons alone there are:
2x multiple tubed ASW rocket launchers (forward of the main gun)
2x triple torpedo tubes for lightweight ASW torpedoes (forward of hanger, behind stack)
1x Z-9C helicopter (ASW capable: equipped with dipping sonar, sonar buoys, magnetic anomaly detector and two external weapon pylons to carry up to 2 ET52 a.k.a. Whithead A244/S anti-submarine torpedoes)

You wouldn't put such weapons on a ship if it hadn't the means to target them with. Indeed, F22P has 1x bow mounted sonar. It potentially has 1x sternmounted towed sonar (likely TAS rather than VDS).

Just because it doesn't have an automatic reloading device (visible) for reloading the HQ-7 launcher does not mean there are no spare rounds on board for manual re-loading... And the 76mm gun as well as the 6 barrel 30mm gatlings are distinctly AAW capable too.

Automatic reloading device is not a big problem. HQ-7 missel system is not high altitude-long range. Pakistan Navy should search for a better system for F-22p. MBDA manufacturered Aster 30 which has Operational range of 3–120 km & Flight altitude of 20 km. It would ba fatal mistake not to consider long range anti-aircraft and anti-missile missile system like Aster 30 on F-22P. Because it can be a future solution to intercept next-generation supersonic anti-ship missiles, such as the Brahmos missile. Saudi Arabia also uses this missel system on Al Riyadh class frigate Sawari II.

Because it can be a future solution to intercept next-generation supersonic anti-ship missiles, such as the Brahmos missile. Saudi Arabia also uses this missel system on Al Riyadh class frigate Sawari II.

Al-Riyadh (Sawari II) Class Multipurpose AAW Frigate carries the Aster 15 missile not the Aster 30.

You are right in case of "Al-Riyadh (Sawari II)". C-803 missiles for antiship role & Harbin Z-9EC for ASW role are suitalbe on F-22P. But problem is that Saudi Arabia has not to face a big Navy in the region but we have to face; in form of india. India is going to be "blue water navy" in next decade. So we should choose better options. Aster 30 is far better than HQ-7. For me it is not understandalbe that an asset, a Frigrate and life of sailors are always on risk by choosing HQ-7 like systems on F-22P. HQ-7 may be good for missel boats for air defense role but not for Frigrates and Destroyers. Aster 30 can be used for "Long range anti-aircraft and anti-missile missile" role. Exactly that we need.

Sir, Pakistan has Frigrates which can be counted on fingers (few). Indian Navy is a big threat for Pakistani Navy. In next decades india is going to have 3 aircraft carriers. When we are going to invest billion dollars to buy U-214 and other stuff then why not 10 sytems of Aster 30. When we have few Frigrates then why we cannot affoard Aster 30 system. HQ-7 is cheap and can be used on missel boats. In conflict when india will try to block our sea supply then we have to go in open sea and at that point we need better air defence system, without thinking how expensive it is. When it is expensive it has some real advantages.

HQ-7 have :

Operating altitude: 30~5,000m
Minimum operating range: 500m

Max operating range: 8,600m (400m/s target); 10,000m (300m/s target); 12,000m (slow flying target such as helicopter)
Speed: Mach 2.3 (750m/s)
Guidance: Command + electro-optical tracking
Warhead: HE-FRAG with proximity fuse
Single shot hit probability: 70~80%
Radar detecting range: 18.4km
Radar homing range: 17km

so it can only used as a CIWS(close in weapon sytem),which will be ok if it is close to shore , but in deep sea it will need better and longer range SAM, otherwise it will be in great threat.

Its radar detecting and homing range, i don't how effective they are against brahmos,forget hypersonic version,in supersonic mode F-22p have only about 20 sec not only to detect,homing but also to destroy incoming missile.

No navy in its right mind will put a long range system like ASTER 30 on a small (2500 ton) frigate hull. Only a VL-launcher or 2 (i.e. 16 missiles) could be installed. Also, it would be difficult to incorporate the necessary radar and control systems onto such a small ship. Also, the ratio of investment in radar and fire control systems to that in the number of launchers/missiles would be unfavorable. In short, if you want Aster-30, you need a - much - bigger ship. One reason PN is getting F22P is that it is small and relatively cheap, while offering capability improvements over present vessels of similar size and allowing for a possible increase in the number of hulls and local building.

Then PN will use F-22p near their shore not in the deep sea ,more like a corvette than frigate.

And as you say(in BOLD) it is more like building a base for construction of future warship.
